Period of Healing

Now that the elections is behind us we need to urge the Republicans to lean across the isle and work with their Democratic compatriots.

To accomplish this I offer the following guide:

Step One: Slap the crap out of the lousy dishonest baztardz to get their attention.

Step Two: Offer to help them to come up to Republican standards by working with them.

Under no circumstances should they compromise Republican standards and expectations to meet those of the Democrats. Working together does NOT mean listening to or acceding to any Democratic allegations. They need to come up to our standards.

Tough Love… let the political healing begin.

You know Gene it might help us heal faster if we took a ride to Hyenas-port and slapped the living **** out of ted (the murderer) kennedy.

You are absolutely correct!!

Period of Healing = Democratic code word for undermining, stonewalling, and filibustering the Conservative agenda.

We will not allow that to happen, as you can never trust the lib Demoncrats (cause you know damn well they are always scheming against us)!!

They can start by making the following apologies:

These are mostly for Kerry, the DNC, CBS and all the other anti-Bush media:

I told lies and undermined the country and our soldiers while we were fighting in Vietnam.

I told lies and undermined the country and our soldiers in the Gulf war.

I told lies and undermined the country and our soldiers in the Afghan War.

I told lies and undermined the country and our soldiers in the Iraqi Freedom war.

I told lies and undermined the Social Security System.

I told lies about a military draft.

I stood by and said nothing while 527 organizations spent millions attacking the President.

I lied to congress about Vietnam.

I lied about tax cuts.

I am “looking out for the middle class”.

John Kerry and the entire Democratic political machine keep insisting that thousands of Florida voters were “disenfranchised” in the 2000 election.

John Kerry will roll back the tax break on all those people who make over $200,000 year and use to; fund more cops and Firemen, healthcare, cut the deficit in half in four years AND give a tax break to the middle class.

I lied about having a real plan for Iraq.

I lied and blamed the President for the flu vaccine shortages.

I tried to incite anti-gay sentiments by outing the VP’s daughter.

I lied about understanding the ‘common man’ and their plight.

I lied about the President increasing Medicare by 17% even though it is mandated by the balanced budget agreement.

I lied about meeting the UN Security Council on Iraq.

I lied about foreign support I lied up to help with Iraq.

My post was stark, but that is what tough love is about. Telling the truth and not letting the recipient weasel out of their responsibility for what they have said or done. Only then can they begin the road to recovery. Anything less is just what DoubbleD defined.

Gene - are you joking or are you truly arrogant? That everyone should see the world as Republicans do and rise to their so called standards. Give me a break. Oh, and nice list of lies about Kerry. Dude, get on w/life. The election is over. Haven't you heard and participated in enough mudslinging during the campaign?

Yo ChiTown:

We Republicans have a right to be arrogant, we control the Presidency, Congress, Senate, and very soon the Supreme Court.

JonR - You're right, I forgot. At times I have lapses in memory and fail to recall the Republicans are almighty (even Godlike). I promise to be a good little American and no longer question my government's actions or policies. After all, they must know what every individual in this country wants. Oh wait, they know what everyone in the world wants. My bad.

No and no.

“That everyone should see the world as Republicans do and rise to their so called standards. Give me a break.”

Actually, I thought I was rather charitable just highlighting DNC tactics used to disparage Bush.

“Oh, and nice list of lies about Kerry. Dude, get on w/life. The election is over. Haven't you heard and participated in enough mudslinging during the campaign?”

I heard plenty of mudslinging directed against Bush. I was also on the receiving end of a lot of crap for telling the truth about Bush and Kerry (not on this forum). That the election is over is not a reason for me to accept ‘reconciliation’ DNC style. Tough Love.

As DoubbleD so aptly defined:

Period of Healing = Democratic code word for undermining, stonewalling, and filibustering the Conservative agenda.

I typically don't engage these posts, so yea, I am a newbie.

I am an American, whose choice for president did not win, but in light of being an American, am willing to rally around the winner accepting that losing is a risk of choice.

This line of posts shows me that, even in attempts to reconcile differences, I am promised slaps, charges of dishonest, and claims that I am un-American because I do not agree with every Republican policy.

My politics are driven by the region where I live. (Georgia). I find some Republicans positions tenable, other I do not. I decide for myself and formulate my expression of view in the channel that most suits my views.

So, to all those wishing to "bring me up to their level" and "slap some sense in to me", I with all integrity responde as an American born, southern reared
citizen and a proud Souther Democrat: Kiss my butt!!!

Let me make this clear, when I said this:

“Now that the elections is behind us we need to urge the Republicans to lean across the isle and work with their Democratic compatriots.”

I thought the word “isle” would make it cleat I was speaking of our representative in the Senate and Congress. You can throw in the party leaders for effect.

The give and take of words on this forum is quite enough for the rest of us. Believe me, having endured the election and re-election of Clinton, I feel the pain of Kerry supporters.

Cparker, welcome to the board, glad to have you posting.

I'm an independently minded southerner too Cparker. I voted for Kerry, he lost, no skin off my teeth. In fact, I wish Shrub godspeeed and great success in cleaning the bloody mess he created up as soon and as efficiently as possible. It won't be hard to win my respect. It might turn out to be all for the best in the long run; what the hell do I know? I'm no foreign policy expert.

As far as changing my inferior ways and seeking to rise to the level of American job off-shoring, big mega-national business entitling, sky-fairy worshipping, minority-gay-women bashing, science hating, Republicans; I believe I'll take a pass on that.

Most of the people I know personally are working people, so I naturally favor a party who advocates in their favor. Nothing against those of you in here who are pulling in 6 figure incomes, and if I was too I'd likely be right in there with you.

primate has succinctly hit on many important issues. One which is really important to me, and doesn't get enough press, is the relationship between government and big business (at the expense of the worker, environment, and society in general). What the conservatives don't realize is that giving power to the big corporations, is unpatriotic by definition, since those entities would do away with national (geographical) boundaries and define all boundaries by economics (of course, those which would favor them).
