with ohio having a recount law on the books that provides for a recount not to start for 11 days, the election won't be over until the after the 15th of november.

it ain't over until it's over.

Bush has to much of a lead in the state. No recount will be needed. Gunflint

Gunflint speaks the truth. The number of votes out there is too close to the margin. No way Kerry has that many of those votes.

Bush has an 134k lead and even with 200k provisional ballots, 2/3 would have to be deemed legal and Kerry would have to carry every single one.

The last time there was a review of provisional ballots of any quantity, only 11% were accepted!

Turn out the lights the parties over!

Does the Ohio "11 day" period include Provisional Ballots?
I think they can validate those immediately, and count them when approved. That isn't a "recount".
But what do I know?

No ... by law, the provisional ballots in Ohio cannot begin to be counted until 10 days after the election.

Additionally, absentee ballots from members of the military have until days after the election to be received ... they have no idea how many such ballots will come in.

Makes no never mind. There are not enough provisional ballots for sKerry to seriously have a chance.

Of the ballots, some number will be thrown out because the voter was inelligible. What remains sKerry would have to win no less than 85%. sKerry did not pull anywhere close to 85% in the best counties in Ohio.

Bush still wins!!

Rick, since it is clear that Bush has won the popular vote, wouldn't it be stealing the election if Kerry squeaked out a win in Ohio?

nice point "e".

136k lead, 130k provisionals. Ohio SofS announces it is statistically impossible for Kerry to win.

Even Myop-Rick can do that simple math.

I topped this because I was so curious as to the lack of a response to "factual" data by the original poster.

Ohio only has an automatic recount if the votes are within .25% of each other, they are not...Pres. Bush gets Ohio and a nice mandate...it IS over now. In fact I just saw a fat lady fall over after singing her heart out.

Nice response Myop-Rick.

I just hate battling wits with an unarmed man. Yep, the parties over and we had one helluva time! Four more years, four more years!
