Without a game played during what was to have been the current season, I guess THAT just wasn't all that big a surprise ...

Here's the report from SI.com ...

NEW YORK (AP) -- In another sign the NHL season is slipping away, the league canceled its All-Star game in Atlanta on Wednesday because of the lockout.

No regular-season games have been played since the season was scheduled to begin Oct. 13, and NHL arenas have been given the go-ahead to release dates on a 45-day rolling basis. With the All-Star game now off the schedule, the next announcement could be the cancellation of the entire season.

No surprise, but those of us in ATL are out of luck til '08.

Does not appear any progress toward even a season.
So Danny Heatly goes to Switzerland to play for 200K when he made over 10X that here.

And the players have a problem with a salary cap.

I guess Europe is filled with guys doing the same thing ... I say, let 'em rot over there ... like most professional athletes these days, they need a reality check and an attitude adjustment ...

Amen my brutha blood. Get a real job and see if playing a friggin' game for 200k a year doesn't sound great!

Um... how can you choose all stars if nobody has played a game yet. I say to SI.com - Thank You Captain Obvious!
