We went yesterday morning to put gas in the truck, Wife was with me and she headed in to get cigerettes and a soda... I hollored at her to pay it inside (gas) as she walked in.... Evedently she didn't hear me and went on in did her business, I filled the truck up and the gas can for the chain saw got finished up and jumped in the truck waiting for her to finish up... this was 11:50 AM... we headed on down to my brothers to cut firewood and spend the day with he and his wife... this evening around 8:30 my wife asked me how much the gas was?? Huh? you got the reciept on that one... No I don't she said I only paid for (This) DOH!!!! so I jumped in the truck and headed up to the station... I walked in with her reciept for what she purchased and asked the clerk if they had someone today not pay for their gas?? No not that she heard about... I said well here is a reciept from this morning of my wifes purchases and the gas was not on there... I filled up my truck on Pump 10, I told my wife to pay it inside with the rest of her things and I guess she did not hear me and I thought she paid inside and she thought I paid at the pump so here I am to square this up.... she looked at me like I was an Idiot and said Well I'll have to ask the other woman working... So again I had to explain everything once again... this woman looked at me like I was an Idiot and then huffed and puffed because she didn't know what she was suppose to do...she gets on the phone and calls I guess the manager trying to figure out how to do this payment.. I said well it was $37.00 and it was Pump 10 has your drawers come up short? NO.. well they probably will this evening at closing? Not Sure? well I'm here to square this up because I know I didn't pay it and I know the wife didn't because it's not on her Reciept from this morning... they acted like I was pulling teeth... so they charged it to my card finally and then she pops off with Mr. if this was me I'd be long gone and wouldn't have said ****.. I said well ma'am I have always paid for everything and never cheated anyone, because it will come back on you two folds... I don't need my truck breaking down because I cheated someone out of Gas.. she laughed and said Wow maybe thats why her car was acting up?? LMAO!!!!

what is going on with America???

Unfortunately, most people are only concerned with how to make things better/easier for themselves. It doesn't seem to matter at who's expense this happens. It's one of the reasons that this country finds itself in the position it is. IMHO

You have my respect as one of the honest people who made this country great...

Ahhh, small town America. Hog, I haven't seen a station where you could pump w/o paying first in YEARS!

drnos, we've got this option in the city here in SPI IL... pay at the pump or pay inside.. some of the same outside lane pumps closer to the street are pay first either at the pump or inside... but the miss communication between the wife and I was the fault here... But also this should have showed up on the register??? these people just played it down and then the comment the woman made was something else... this place has a high turnover rate on employees.. I can see why now... they also have a sign up that tally's the drive away gassers amounts for the months on a dated tally sheet...

Sad!!!!

Good karma, hog! I've done stuff like this before at the tabacco shop. The guy always forgets to ring me up for the smoke I had in the smoke room, and I always have to remind him. Maybe that's why he treats me so well everytime I enter the brick & mortar?

Yo Hog:

Did she know you are a Republican, if so here is two reasons why you got free gas:

1) She figured Republicans control all major political offices in America and you as a Republican are entitled to free gas.

2) She is a democrat and saw what the Republicans did to tom dashile and was in fear of losing her job if she charged you for gas.

Honestly I think she was just brain dead... as I see in some of the other employee's at this station....
slow service if you go inside 5 registers in the place and only one working all the time... Sad!!!

Been there, done that, went back and paid...

I have also had clerks put someone else's gas on my tab a few times... Try explaining that at $1.75 you can not, no way, no how, put $50.00 worht of gas in the tank of a Jeep Wrangler! ($26.00 if it was bone dry!)

Honesty, while sometimes a hard pill to swallow, is the best policy.

Had samething happen at a Target store had about 100.00 worth of food and was told bill was about 27.
When I told them that was way off both poeple at register looked at me like I was nuts. Took a extra 15 minutes to take care of doing it correctly.

When one considers how prevalent stupidity is, driving during rush hour on the freeway becomes rather frightening after considering how many utter boneheads are driving at high rates of speed around you ...
