I want to wish all my fellow Marines a Happy Birthday. I know that you all uphold the highest traditions of Corps and country.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the Berlin wall coming down, today is the Marine Corps Birthday and tomorrow is Veterans Day. Remember those that came before you.

If anybody has more tradition than the Navy it could be the USMC! Halls of Montezuma.

Happy Birthday USMC!

I ran into a bunch of Marines on Saturday nite that were celebrating the birthday of the Corps, with a big time Ball in Maryland at the Hotel I was staying in, I walked into the bar and shouted "Hoooooooohah", passed out a bunch of cigars and had a drink or two with them and some really beautiful women!

God Bless All our troops!

Happy 229th Devil Dogs...and many more!

They have this bizarre rule here at work, on your birthday YOU have to bring in treats for everyone else. I bring treats in every year on the Marine Corps birthday, and not for my birthday.

The email I send out always has a Marine Corps tidbit in it...explaining Tun Tavern, reasons for their nicknames, the Marine Corps Hymn, Chesty's story. After years and years, many people look forward to it, other's look forward to ignoring it. It also ends with a "Please remember tomorrow is Veteran's Day."

The very first year I did it I made it a trivia question, if they could tell me who was 220 years old, they'd get a donut. One lady came over and was very excited to get a donut until she found out it was the Marines...she had stood around waiting till someone said the answer because she didn't know it, but then stomped away saying "You can keep your f'n donut, I hate the Marines"...her husband was Army. I knew right then I had a winner of a tradition.

Bananas, apples, oranges and pears: $11.43
Three dozen donuts: $22.77
Three dozen bagels: $32.97
Pissing of certain people: PRICELESS
