Pre-Light
The pre-light inspection showed a heavy in my hand dark beauty. One minor flaw was seen in the wrapper where their was a little seperation. It did not however effect the burn. Cut with a Liga 9 Cutter. Pre-light draw was smooth and easy. The cigar was a little toothy and smelled of woodsy dung.
First Third
The cigar started out with a bang. Right on the first puff the flavors were intense. Strong woodsy and nutty flavors and maybe some honey in there. It was very smooth with little to no bite. There was no acidic or spiciness at all. The draw remained firm yet flowed easily. The burn started a bit uneven but corrected itself by the second third.
Second Third
The seocon third was a smokey treat as the flavors start to turn from a woodsy nutty to a little more sweet. Smoke billowed at slightly heavier then what I would call normal volume. The burn evened out and we were in business. I had to tell myself several times to take it out of my mouth (thats what she said) so I would not overheat it causing bitterness on the finish.
Final Third
The final third was as pleasurable as the first two thirds. The flavors completed their journey from woodsy and nutty to more sweet and velvet chocolatly. The burn remained perfect to the nub and there was no bitterness, even as I burned my fingertips at the end. I did not want this cigar to end.
Final Thoughts
The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial was fantastic from start to finish and I really recorded no negatives. The ash was strong and lasted about 2-3 inches before soiling my Minnesota vikings Jersey. The smoke followed the cigar starting woodsy finishing sweet. The strength was enough to let me know it was there but not overpowering.
I would absolutly by this cigar again and I will be doing it soon. This one came from the line sampler and some bombs have taken most of the rest I had. I will be looking for a full box next time around as I will want to re-visit this one often.
