The judge was a Democrat appointed by Carter and rigged the jury instructions.

Still, Slick Willie would have beat it, thought Tom could also. Either he was to arrogant, or too stupid.

Man it was a Texas Jury, you wouldn't think they could be that un-American, to let a lib judge tell them what to do.

I don't have any facts about this case but if he was in Selma he is innocent and a great guy. Now all he needs to do is hand out turkeys to seniors freezing in 61 degree temps and he's gold

Huck, you got two other threads you can comment on for Charlie R., don't change the subject, we are talking about the party that isn't corrupt here. Judged by a jury of his peers to be guilty.

Puppy, just like a lib you follow the same rules:

Here are just a few:

I wants mine! You's got to much! Even if you did earn it and I didn't.

We libs fucked up but someone else did to so that makes it right and justifiable!

Two wrongs make it allright and so do three lefts...

Here's a concept for you. If they are corrupt kick them to the curb. This one will be hard for you I know.

Oh, and it's Bush's fault

Stick to the point Huck, or go back to Charlies threads, you got anything real to add, didn't think so.

How about this: if he is found guilty then he is punished. I don't care what party he is or who he is.

Not a difficult concept for anyone to grasp. If you commit a crime and get caught, you get punished.

That is all that needs to be said, so if you want to add anything else, you are just being partisan and are part of the problem.

Not true... Not in your DNA. But i'm sure it sounds good in your head when you hear yourself say it puppy.

Now, go snuggle up with wifey and stop stirring up the boards. It's Thanksgiving!

Comrade

AUSTIN, Texas – Former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay argued throughout his trial that the deck was stacked against him by a politically motivated prosecutor and a jury from the most Democratic city in one of the most Republican states.

But following DeLay's conviction Wednesday on money laundering and conspiracy charges, some legal experts say the edge may now shift to the Republican who represented a conservative Houston suburb for 22 years.

Before DeLay's inevitable appeal, which his lawyers predict will be a far friendlier process than his trial, he faces sentencing next month from Senior Judge Pat Priest. While technically the money laundering charge carries a punishment of up to life in prison, the judge has wide latitude and could end up just giving him probation.

"It is absolutely impossible he would get anywhere near life," said Philip Hilder, a Houston criminal defense attorney and former federal prosecutor. "It would be a period of a few years, if he gets prison."

under Texas law, corporations cannot make donations to individual candidates ... what DeLay is charged with is having corporattions make donations to the national party, then talking the party into making donations to the local candidates ... sort of a quid pro quo ...

that strikes me as pretty tame stuff to consider putting a guy away for life, irrespective of political persuasion ...

+1

From what I've read, DeLay is guilty of what other politicians are doing both in and out of Texas. And I'm apt to believe that it'll be overturned on appeal.

I hope it does get overturned. I always liked the Hammer.

That said the only real fact here is he is convicted at this time.

Dr. Maddvibbe- I understand the corruption in the Parties, both sides. I agree there is corruption in the Democratic Party. What you don't understand is that is corruption just as great in your Party, or in the Republican Party. And with time, the stronger the Tea Party grows, the more corrution will be also. Only way I can help you, and others understand is to give you some famous quotes to dwell on."Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, "Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it"," An honest politician is one who, when he is bought, will stay bought","If money be not thy servant, it will be thy master. The covetous man cannot so properly be said to possess wealth, as that may be said to possess him."
If any of you on here don't think this is true, and doesn't hold for your party, whatever it may be, than you don't think. I didn't support Charlie Rangel, nor do I support Tom Delay. Nor do I support anyone convicted from any party, too bad more here can't say that. As far as there may be more guilty Dems than Repubs, is that really the way to look at it? I don't think you sould support the guilty ones, just because of their affiliations, but should hold up the ones that try not to fall into the clutches of guilt or corruption or greed.

Typical Democrat stooge. They scream about corruption in both parties, claim that they already "know this," and act like Republican supporters are all holier than thou by not seeing it in their midsts.

Here's a newsflash for you: DeLay ain't in office anymore. In fact, after he stepped down from his leadership position, the electorate gave him the frickin' boot.

And Charlie Rangel? Not only was this guy a flat-out tax cheat, he gets a slap on the wrist AND gets re-elected to boot. Barney Frank had a frickin' brothel bering run out of his house, and he was playing Hide The Sausage with a fatcat executive with either Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae during the whole mortgage meltdown mess. Is he gone? No.

So, until Democrat-boot-licking morons like you, drywalldog, start bleeding out your eyeballs concerning the massive amounts of corruption that goes on in the Democrat party on a daily basis, I suggest you stop lecturing the rest of us about "corruption." You frankly have no room to talk or lecture anyone about not seeing the corruption "in the ranks." The frickin' Republican party is a bunch of rank amatures when compared to that festering sh*thole that is the DNC.

Please, spare us your inane, holier than thou crap. It's tired and old.
