First, property taxes in Michigan ain't exactly low, and especially not where I live.
Second, if you've ever lived in Michigan for any extended period of time, you'd know the roads ALWAYS suck. And it's been like that for as long as I remember.
Third, my wife pointed out not too long ago that the massive repairs they made to the roads seem to make the roads drive worse than before they were repaired.
Fourth, the part about "not having money for road repairs" is kinda funny when you consider that the obviously have money to pay school administrators ungodly salaries and bonuses, as well as spending the coin to put up a brand-spakin' new senior citizens center (when most of them fly south during the winter anyways).
So, uh, your assumptions are pretty paper thin.

Actually, the price of cheese is also affected by the federal subsidies that are paid out to dairy farmers. So yeah, Idi Amin Jr. does play some role in all of this.
Not to mention shutting down production in the Gulf, which has jacked-up transportation prices because that "unhappy cow cheese" has to be trucked from California to Michigan. That is, unless you think the product goes from the West Coast to the Midwest via the Pizza Cheese Elves.
Seriously. Get a clue.
