This was done from one of Harley's photos. He let me use it for a project I had to do on pointillism. It's all dots. The photo this was done from is my favorite cigar photo of all time.

Also known as stipling yes? At least that's the term when referring to tattoos. Either way, a very nice image.

Beautiful work! That has got to take an insane amount of patience and precision...

I miss Cycleman's photos...Zito's too. Always enjoyed the different approaches to the same subject.

Yeah, it took quite a while. It was a couple years ago so I can't remember the amount of hours. I want to say it was about 10 days of about 4-6 hours a day. It's around 2 1/2' x 2' to give you some perspective with how big it is and how many dots there are to give it a seamless gradient.

Chief, doing great. Ya'll kicked the **** out of the humi. How have you been?

Gimbel, they're very similar. Both use dots. Technically speaking, it's stippling if there's no color and the gradient is between light and darkness. It's Pointillism if there is color and the gradient is through dots of different colors creating more colors. I referred to this as Pointillism because they're both technically the same technique and the project itself was titled "Pointillism". There's different ways to do both stipple and pointillism, some get the gradient by making smaller or bigger dots. Another way is to use fewer or more dots.
