I recently bought a digital camera and need some help on how to resize pics so that I can post on the pic forum among other things. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

first check the picture size. if you can't using whatever software came with the camera, mak a directory on the c drive and label it PICTURE. copy the picture from wherever it ended up to the PICTURE directory.

righ click on the picture and open properties to see what size it is.

open your software that came with the camera and there should be direction for opening the picture and then making the picture smaller. then crop the picture itself cutting off all the excess empty space around the picture. save it and it should save back to the PICTURE directory. check the properties again and you can see if it is under 100 mg. if not repeat until you get there. there should also be an automatic repair to the picture to correct for contrast and focus and darkness.

play around with it until you can do it correctly.

B,

look for a program called Paint Shop Pro... they usually have a free download of their software..

also if you are running XP if you just highlight the photo you have on the computer, in the lower lefthand corner you can see what size it is..

I have found that 450 X 550 pixels or so is a great size to post to CBid with. Most image software will have a resize option that will allow you to use inches or pixels.

Paint Shop Pro is great! The newer versions time-out some of the high-end graphics functions, but the older versions keep on working. As I recall, Paint Shop recommends using the 'resample' function, rather than 'resize,' to maintain picture quality.
