National bankruptcy is inevitable. The trick is to amass wealth while the "getting is good", convert that wealth into things that are liquid, and leave the country before the crash.

Are there no prisons? And the workhouses - are they still in operation? From what you said at first I was afraid that something had happened to stop them in their useful course.

its funny everytime a hear of a debt plan or cutting the budget, every politician screams no it will ruin the recovery! or there is some absolutely laughable plan like the pentagon found 40 mil in savings over the next 5 years. or obamas budget saying he found a few more mil in savings over the next ten years. that is like my house about to be foreclosed on and saying but BoA, i found a quarter on the street today, it will be alright! i found savings hooray!

meanwhile we are paying off iraq and afgan politicians billions! losing fuel trucks and supplies by the tens of thousands (war) of tons and shipping jobs overseas. no one cares if stuff is made in america. we are nation of service industry, not manufacturing anymore. it needs to be a balance.
