I got a 5pk this week with minor cracking in the wrapper...wrapper seemed a little flaky but only at the end(not the head). Anyone here get cigars like that? I'm considering letting them rehumidify and keeping rather than have to reship?

I have a product thats called Cigar Doctor. It's a cigar repair liquid made of pectin. U brush it on any damaged wrapper. It doesn't add flavor to your gars. I have repaired many gars with this. That way U don't have to go thru that return bit. X

That stuff is great! If it dries out, put a few drops of distilled water in the jar, let it sit overnight, and it's good to go. I've had the same jar for well over a year and I've repaired many cigars with it.

I "won" a lot of the la aurora - preferidos 1,2,&3 (2 of each). 3 were pretty beat up -- I didn't return em because I've bought so much and quite honestly these have been the only ones that've arrived below par. Besides, in my book taste and smell trump construction anyday and unless the stick is plugged or unraveling in my hand, I'll have a good smoking experience.

How does one obtain this Pectin first aid kit?

I got mine at my local tobacconist. I'm sure you can find the stuff on the net. I think mine's called "Cigar Repair", or maybe it's the same one mentioned here, "Cigar Doctor".

Dude... go to Acme, Shop n Bag, (your local grocery). They have it in the baking section, by the box. Knorr, or Ball canning pectin works fine. Use a q-tip to apply.

You can develop pectins by doing pushups. Or maybe wearing pushups. Escondidochick may be able to comment on this.

Ha! Hey Delarob, is that the same stuff as the product sold in cigar shops? I'm sure I paid triple.

Yup, it's the same. And yup, you prob did. The stuff comes in two bags or so. You'll have enough to last you a lifetime for like a $1.50
