I don't personally give a rats ass, I say shut the sh*t piece down. It would be kind of fun to watch the politicians run for the hills.

sadly, they hafta shut the whole shooting match down except "essential services"

Military, some DHS, some child welfare entities will continue to run - mostly other stuff will be shut down.

How is DHS "essential"? Remember like 10 years ago? We did fine without it for all the year before that.

re: 8 - no, sort of. The government will get shut down because they have not authorized funding. Sadly, they are likely to make the payroll retroactive to the shutdown date so the folks will likely get paid..

re: 7 - Not my opinion, but it will be the justification. TSA, FEMA, The Coast Guard, Border Patrol, and the Secret Service are all under DHS. There are other functions. If it comes to that, those functions will be declared "essential services".

Hopefully they can time the shutdown for midnight. It would suck to have a bunch of Federal employees report to work and then have to wake them up mid-day and send them home.

I only care who gets the blame. This is the real issue for the sportiest of politicians. These idiots better come to realize that for most of us, this kind of staged B.S. and the blame game that follows only serves to further divide the country and leaves a bad taste in all of our mouths for these privileged politicians that play these kinds of games with America's business that we voted for them to handle. TEA parties will follow. TEA pertiers will be emboldened if this happens, and those they have supported had better play their cards right this time or their political careers will come crashing to a halt. Don't they realize that Americans won't tolerate these stunts anymore no matter what side of the isle they may be on?

I predict not, and there will be a shut down forced by the leftist Democrats, that they will blame on the Republicans for not playing along. The "mainstream" media will help with this cause, much to their further demise.
