It's to bad and I feel bad for his family, but does this really surprise anyone that this happened? We deserve anything they do to our citizens or law enforcement agents, because we are to scared to fight back. I love how the law enforcement agents now want to do something (which we won't), but yet when U.S citizens such as the old lady shot in the back of the head last month or the guy shot in the head on a jet ski it wasn't such a big deal then. Go google "zeta murders" and look at some of the images.

You think? Do a little research on what is really happening south of the border, and how little we are doing to stop it.

Isn't "south of the border" a different country? Are you calling for a military invasion?

I agree that it's a bad situation down there. I have no plans to travel there but it would suck for someone to tell me I deserve to die or get hurt if I did... The DEA agent was doing his job for God sake...

I'm not calling for an "invasion", but a little "special op" help would end a lot of this.

Right. A quiet invasion in the middle of a narco war. Do we have a cap on the acceptable number of US casualties?

Build a wall....fine. Cut off the drug flow and the money from American dopeheads....fine. Keep our troops out of that rat hole.

it was an ICE agent i thought? although im not suprised by it, yes i most certainly give several **** about an american murdered in cold blood, especially one who was fighting to protect us. i agree we are acting like pansies about everything but that doesnt mean one of our citizens death is worth any less. and yes, there have been several if not many americans murdered in cold blood in recent times but how does that make you not care about a federal agent doing his job there?

I think you underestimate the capabilities of our special forces.

cigarsmoker,
perhaps you'd like to volunteer?

Those nasty pics you linked prove one thing loud and clear:

If by "underestimate" you mean I don't think our special forces can go into to Mexico, stop a multi-year drug war that has corruption levels throughout the entire government and law enforcement, suffer no casualties, and be home for dinner......yes I underestimate our special forces.

Sound a little too much like too many Chuck Norris movies on Netflix.

I served my time and if I could have done that work I would have loved to. I now only take good care of my own family and sit back and watch the rest of it fall to crap.

Yeah but he took back control of an entire battleship!

Maybe he could go to Ciudad Juarez with Chuck Norris.

At least I wouldn't care if there were any casualties.

Issue narco terrorist hunting permits to southern US rednecks....clean up a bit and help pay down the national debt with the revenue from the permits.

I worry and am saddened by the loss of human life.

But the upside is since he is a federal employee at least his services will not be missed. He should be alive, just unemployed (working for the government = being on the welfare which at least is not as bad as catching the gay)

I actually do find it very sad and do give a sheeet...

Am sure these two were targeted specifically for who they were and what they do...the other American casualties during this turf-war seemed to fall into two categories: 1. Wrong place and wrong time... 2. Part of the drug war...

This isnt something that can be solved nicely and in a timely manner...its the whole country...and you take one out, and there are 10 waiting to take their spot...there is entirely too much money at stake and no real "fear of punishment" as the laws in Mexico almost assure they are set free (except for real high profile cartel leaders who are extradited (if and when they are caught))...

Again, bad situation with no real valid solutions up to now...

Dont see it spilling across the borders (at least not at a high rate...more isolated incidences then a spill-over)...

Perhaps it is time to end prohibition.

Legalize drugs---eliminate the black market.

Legalizing drugs is a surrender monkey solution.

The drug gang members aren't just going to quit and go back to college and get computer science degrees!

Thing no one seems to remember is that this goes on every so many years in mexico...yeah, you have times of calm (when there is a clear drug leader...

80's...think of the times of Rafael Caro Quintero (calm for many years till the death of Enrique Camarena)..

90's think when Amado Carrillo "El Señor de Los Cielos" (calm up to his death and then violent drug war)...

00's...think Chapo Guzman...all calm then they go kill his son and all hell breaks loose...

Again, as soon as a clear leader emerges, things will go back to normal...

Some interesting reading material:

1. Down by the River : Drugs, Money, Murder, and Family by Charles Bowden
2. Dirty Dealing: Drug Smuggling on the Mexican Border and the Assassination of a Federal Judge--An American Parable by Gary Cartwright

Again, these books deal with the Juarez drug wars and they are talking about stories from 10 - 20 years ago...
