Amicus Curie?

Didn't she discover x-rays or penicillin or something?

No, that was her younger sister Marrie and brother in law Pierre. And, it had to do with theories of radioactivity, discovery of new elements and radiation treatment of cancers. I believe penicillin was discovered by Arthur Flemming. Touche?

not as easy as it sounds... they hide behind the local law enforcement like a little kid on his front porch.... I don't think you could get close enough if you really tried.. and besides, they send women and children to these protests...

here is my encounter with them..

I had no idea how organized they really are. Bringing along children to the protest as well. Pathetic.

Don't be so sure they won't have weapons for self-defense. Ever been to one of their rallies to counter-protest? Surrealistisk and not fun.

Robert - I am sure that they are ready to defend themselves, but you can bet your arse that they will not through the first punch. But they will do whatever they can to provoke someone else to. They were in town about 2 months ago or so. I drove by where they were (had no choice -- they were on the only main road less than half-mile from my house.) Unreal. I was very glad that the day was windy and very cold!

The ruling did not surprise me ... though I could not hold the Westboro bunch in lower regard, it IS a free speech issue.

That said, if I were the father of a fallen warrior whose funeral was disrupted by these c*cks*ck*rs as the Snyder funeral was, I would not have sued nor would I have been standing by for a court ruling ...

I'd have walked up to the first j*ck*ss with a bullhorn, pull out a pistol and shoot him between the eyes, then would turn on the second ...

yes, I know I'd be either dead or arrested within moments, but I sure as hell would have made a statement they wouldn't soon forget ...

Fred Phelps will pass soon. He is old and not in the best health. I'm not sure what will happen after.

My first direct experience with this group was about 12 years ago. Since I have been watching them with fascination. They are as smart as they are evil but I guess when the devil shows on this earth I'd be really surprised if he/it was a dumbass.

I had some business dealings with one of them (the family) where I had to be professional and just deal with it. Very dificult to do but there was no real choice. They are great at putting you in that position. I also know people whose childeren went to school with theirs (now full members).

If only the intelligence they collectively have would be put towards good rather than evil. But they beleive they are putting their efforts towards good. Its hard to figure but I beleive they actually beleive their own drivel.

Its like the anti abortion crowd (speaking figuartively not making the direct comparison) beleiving that killing abortion docs or bombing clinics is ok and even good or holy. This group beleives that about what they do.

If you google hard enough there is a fascinating unfinished/unpublished book about them written in part by one of the children that fled. They were compelled not to finish.

Art Fleming was the original host of Jeopardy. You mean Peggy. Her brother recently killed their father. Allegedly.

why did you ask such a stupid loaded question.

you had room to ask so many questions that would have required an intelligent answer. perhaps you preferred to act like a fool and ask a question that had no merit.

i suggest you show a little more thinking on your part before you blurt out some cliché foolish question. it's hard to take you seriously.

First of all, nobody on earth are as smart as this group is evil.

Next, even without firm numbers I can honestly and accurately state that the vast majority of the "anti abortion crowd" does NOT believe that killing the doctors was justified.
I'll assume that your wording was simply inadequate and that you don't think most people feel it's OK to kill a doctor because he performed an abortion.

With all that said, I'd be interested in knowing what your business dealings were with this group?

Westboro did NOT disrupt the funeral. The six protesters were 1,00 feet away, out of site, except for the tops of their signs, which the father admitted he barely saw. He learned of the protest afterward, while searching the Internet.

I must've picked the wrong name to cite as an example ... the funeral I was thinking of had many 'protesters'*, all of whom were right on top of the mourners, not out of sight a thousand feet away ...

*Using the word 'protester' to describe these sh*t heads is more than a little bit PC ... much like describing the Islamic terrorists as 'insurgents' ... let's call a spade a spade here ... the Westboro bunch are deliberate sh*t disturbers and hate mongers ...

trust me on this Fenst ... if some other so-called church group were to stage a similar demonstration at the funeral of some poor gay college kid, using the same message on their signs as these Westboro idiots, you nor anyone else would be defending them ... they'd be arrested and rung up on hate crimes charges ...

SteveS since these maggots have garnered so much attention they have been staying within their arrainged zone. Unless you've seen something I haven't seen reported which is possible. Getting away with as much as they can legally and angering the public as much as possible I think are part of the evil and intelligence TW referenced.

"the vast majority of the "anti abortion crowd" does NOT believe that killing the doctors was justified."

agreed. I did not mean to infer that. I'm comparing them to the extreme. There are some in here who applauded the killing of "Tiller the Killer" using very similar logic as the Phelps group (and Islamic extremeists). It's a really strange "I'm so right whatever I do is ok" sort of logic.

Faulty logic, but not uncommon logic. You see it many places.

"With all that said, I'd be interested in knowing what your business dealings were with this group?"

I can not really say, but it was not directly with the "group". One of his daughter's has (or had....its been about 4 or 5 years since I've dealt with that etity so I do not know her status today.) a legitimate day job. A public one at that (read taxpayer money). My dealings had nothing to do with the church, and in fairness her outside never came up during my dealings with her.
