12 years ago today the USA and NATO launched an air war against Yugoslavia (now known as Serbia) to stop the government from fighting the Kosovo Liberation Army made up of Muslim separatists. The fighting was causing a mass exodus of ethnic Albanian Muslims back to Albania.

Once the air war reversed the course of the war, the ethnic Albanian Muslims were then able to ethnically cleanse the region of 250,000 ethnic Serbs who fled to refugee camps in Serbia.

12 years later Kosovo is still a UN administered area and UN peacekeeping troops have been unable to fulfill their mandate to return all the involuntarily displaced persons to Kosovo. Today Kosovo is 88% ethnic Albanian Muslims.

Currently investigations are under way as to several hundred Serbian civilian prisoners that were executed for organ harvesting by Albanians.

Job well done.

4 wars in 12 years for the peace loving USA. Perpetual war rocks if you're in the right industry!

Rumor has it that during the bombing, only government owned factories were bombed. Privately owned factories were avoided even if they were military. This weakened the government's standing in the economy and later opened the door to European investment from people like......well.......Le HockeyDad.
