Today is election day for cities. I am a candidate for reelction to city council. Beautiful day (weather no excuse) and turnout is running very low, lucky to hit 20%. After knocking on about 500 doors over the last month and attending all sorts of public gatherings. I just don't understand.......people are ill informed and just don't care. Also, I'm amazed. A political newbie, supported by the local Republicans, is spending about $20k on his campaign in a city of 23,000 people. (I spent $2300). Sad that so many have given so much to preserve our democracy and so few care enough to participate and will support the purchase of an office. Not sour grapes, I am heavily favored to win a seat. Lots of out of work real estate folks ran for paying elected jobs last cycle (electoral). None elected to paid positions, but some on school boards....
I blame the globalists cuz Le Hockey dad hasn't approved my apprenticeship yet.

I outsourced your apprenticeship to a guy named Bakwanesha Patel. He goes by "Mike".

File a union grievance.

For $2300, you can barely even start a rumor about the opposition candidate being caught with a dead hooker nowadays.

Beer Win or lose......I"ll have a few Guiness, a bit of Jameson and a Padron 64. Celebrate a win or at least the end of the campaign.

I'm home sick today, but crawled out and voted.. (stayed as far from the workers as possible so no one was infected with my cold)

took several naps, and am waiting the returns.

one of my candidates leads by a healthy margin, while the other is in a very tight race.

I hope I can stay awake long enough... of course, my life is not going to change if I have to wait til tomorrow.

for the fun of it, I'm also watching the Milwaukee County Executive race. There's a billionaire who's never worked a day in his life running.

Sadly, he's winning.

The man has never balanced a checkbook.....

I'm hoping our federal, state, and local governments adopt the Taiwanese model of legislative deadlock resolution...full blown brawls/ fist fights.

hmm.. Well Wisconsin just can't do anything normal. With almost all of the tabulating done, the supreme court election is about 200 votes apart. That's out of 1.5 million votes. The last set of numbers should be added shortly, but will probably not change a lot. I anticipate a recount.
