e-Chick ... you say you don't know much about cigars? Are you, in fact, a cigar smoker? I had been hoping to get your perspective on cigar smoking as a woman ... (omg, I just read my own question before sending it and can only imagine the response it will provoke from some of the others on this board ... oh, well)

see what I mean? yep, I knew before I pushed the send button, that while I was asking the lady a serious question, that it had other connotations and I knew there'd be plenty who'd see them ... there'll be a lot more to follow too, and it'll be fun ... and who knows, I might even get the answer to the question I asked e-Chick

SteveS - Well, let's see, where should I start, oh yeah, let's ask Slimboli first, ummm, as a woman, and one that has smoked only several cigars, ISOMS, but wait, let's toss to Slimboli again, I thoroughly enjoyed it! My first was with 3 male in-laws at a bbq...I loved it and the bonding nature (if I may describe it as such) that went along with it. The feel of the stick rolling around in my hand, the flavor on my lips, the loooonnggg slow draw, again the amazing taste, and finally...I exhaled...OMG! My cherry was popped! Then I enjoyed several more after a Caribbean trip...back to Slimboli...and I experienced the same, only THIS time my hubby was not amused, you know the whole lick an ashtray drama. So I had to resort to what many of you do and sneak it outside...now, I only have distant memories...AND YOU GUYS! Hope its as good for you as it was for me (wink) E-Chick

e-Chick ... I really am curious now ... as someone who has smoked "only several cigars", how on earth did you find your way to this bb ?? After having lurked on the board for a while before doing any posting, I've observed that you are a terrific participant in the threads that go on here and have a really wicked sense of humor ... I didn't think I'd offend you with my initial question and am glad to find I was right ... gotta tell you why I sought your input as a woman cigar smoker tho ... while we were on vacation last summer, I stopped in a cigar store ... while we were in there, MrsS decided she wanted to see what it was all about and picked up a couple of flavored cigars .. since then, her taste has grown some and she doesn't go much for the flavored ones, but now she's got the next-door neighbor's wife smoking cigars too!! When the four of us get out on the patio in the evening and fire up those cigars, I can't even begin to imagine the down-wind residents of the neighborhood must be thinking ... on, btw ... I simply will NOT smoke indoors ... I like cigars as well as anyone, but cannot stand the odor of stale smoke in the house.
If we get down SD way (we love it down there), perhaps we'll come buy a flower from you ...

XXX, yes I mean YOU X you nasty boy!!! You better behave!!! Oh, and BTW, I've been de-flowering for nearly 20 years - hehe! I've spread pollen all over San Diego County, LOL! My flower shops are driving me crazy though now and I really want to sell, sell, sell...Hubby is a commercial refrigeration contractor and it's much more lucrative with less stress...Okay and STEVES, I originally started posting in '99? or '00? when I returned from a trip with a box of cigars...some for my brother in law and some to sell for a few bucks (Cohiba Esplendidos)...never happened, ended up consuming them myself. My brother in law said they were good cigars and me, being the computer geek freak that I am, decided to 'research' my gars since I knew absolutely zip about them...only which end to light! Google is my fav search engine and this site happened to be one of the first to pop up...I got hook lurking for a day or so and had to JUMP right in with the rest of the characters here. Somehow it works! I also searched about 10 other sites and I believe Slimboli turned me on to Nexis (sp?) or something like that. They have a authenticity site that I was able to compare my cigar's size, color, caps, and the box, labels, stamps, construction and so on. It was amazing. I either had the real deal or an unbelievably good counterfeit. My inlaw knows his gars too and he believes they were authentic ISOMs. I mean, gosh, there obviously HAS to be SOME sort of authenic ones being made regardless of how you obtain them. Even if 98% or whatever are fake, someone-somewhere has the other 2%! I think I had beginners luck although Slimboli begs to differ. Nah, Slim just begs! JK! Since my hubby and I aren't smokers, I would never smoke in the house either. I meant that I had to SNEAK it outside when he wasn't looking and hopefully upwind!!! And as far as the research thing goes, I'm relentless. I searched 3 months for my $54+K dream car and bought it for just over $38K. Hey, do I know how to do it or what! The moral of the story is that I believe that you should love what you do (thus the looming sale of my flower shops) and if it happens to be cigars...so be it and do it wholeheartedly. I would rather have one of the best cigars ONCE in my life than to fiddlefart around with this cheapie one and that questionable one...get the picture? You sound like a great guy and if you and your wife/family ever come this way email me and heck yeah, we'll get together...my husband is still getting over the shock that we actually met one of you guys! ps, You'll have to ask me what I drive just so I know you read this novel. LOL! E-Chick

Gosh, should I keep you guessing??? This could be fun! Nah, I'll spill my guts...JonR is closest and X is an idiot (that's a lovable idiot). I bought it last year, a 2000 Corvette convertible. Flew to Dallas to drive it home. No, not the Z06, I'd kill myself! I drive like a maniac already! The color is called magnetic red (burgandy) and I know why is called magnetic even though it's fiberglass...the leather and top are black and my oh my is she purty! But man, I just put 4 new tires on 2 days ago and it set me back close to $1,500! Sheesh! Had to, I burned up the others :) and I'm drivin' to Vegas tomorrow (anniversary/birthday weekend)...So I'll talk to y'all in a few days... unless I have to get my CB fix before I leave! It's an addiction ya know?
