This thank you has been long overdue. My appologies to Mike for me being such a slacker.

We had been talking about all the beers (IPA's and such) that many of you guys drink. I have always been curious about them but generally don't like heavy, dark & hoppy beers. Mike put together a "small" package of stuff for me to try.

FRIGGIN 18 BEERS!!!!!

.......and some nice smokes to boot!!!

Thank you Mike! I will report on each as the wife and I try each. I have never had any of these.

{Also in the pic but not sent by Mike.....turkey poster from the turkeyman & desktop humidor from on of my shooting clients}

My pleasure Ray,,,for the boozers I believe his sampler included

Left Hand Milk Stout
Spaten Optimater
Hofbrau Heife
Abita Strawberry Harvest
St Arnolds Brown Ale
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Sierra Nevada Bigfoot (Barleywine)
Real Ale Coffee Porter
and I can't see enough of the last one and I don't recall which it was...

Hopefully he will like one of the styles I sent over and then it is all downhill.....

I thought the horse piss was Coors. Oh wait, you probably don't have Coors out there. Sick

This will either completely ruin me for what I used to know as beer or I won't like any of it. Is it wrong to still like Olympia? Fond memories of sipping my Dad's Oly.

Oh, and btw.......that LP9 is ashes.

What, no RaaaaaiNieeeer Beer?

Grew up on Oly and Rainier...Rainier had the better brewery tour. You could take the tour on weekdays and spend a good hour in the Mountain Room.

I remember going to the Olympia brewery in WA. about 10 years before they closed up. Lol, that was fun!!!! They were pretty free with the samples and I think I walked outta there about half toasted.

Based on what you've said, I think maybe the pale ale and the barleywine may not be up your alley but I wanted you to try them. The others really just depend on your preference. Smoke a good maduro (like an LP9) with the milk stout and you may be surprised. The strawberry harvest is a special release that you will love or hate.

Damn! Not many people don't like the LH Milk Stout. The bigfoot is horrible imho, but many like it. I'd love to get my hands on some of that Abita....sounds yummy! The Glenwood Canyon brewpub does a strawberry release every year for an event thats pretty tasty. Also someone(pete's?) makes a strawberry blonde that decent. Great beer bomb on a very deserving botl Mike, nice work!
