Anyone else ever tried one of these cigars. I had my first this evening after washing the truck. A rather mild cigar with a beautiful golden wrapper. Burned even and had a mid grey ash. Draw was a little easy however. Began with a roasted nutty flavor that ended with a slight pepper core finish. Had it with a JW Dundee Honey Brown Lager that complimented it very well. As always, feedback welcomed. This cigar is from the J.C. Newman Cigar Co. Also hidden in the wrapper of selected No. 9's are a stamp if present will win you a one year supply of Cuesta Rey cigars, 2 boxes a month!

Actually, the one I got was direct from the factory, I think. I got it for free being a member of Cigar Family. I thought it was rather bitter and needed at least 6 good months in the humidor to be good. I too thought it was a rather mild smoke with a GREAT wrapper, but, as I said a bit too young for my taste....Brent

I haven't smoke the one I got in the mail yet but bought some at the store, found the one I sampled to be quite young, and am letting the rest sit in the corner and think about how they want to behave next time I bring them out.

Saw the promo a month ago. During a visit to the local cigar lounge, I smoked one with my "cigar guy". He is an authorized distributor of Cuesta Rey. Although I enjoyed the Yankee game on T.V., I was not impressed with the cigar. They have a maduro that is a little better but the line in general is mediocre.

Smoked the one I got from J.C. Newman last night (let it age for a month) and found it a little bit green on taste and aroma. It wasn't too bad, but not that great either. The draw was easy, it was mild to medium bodied and finished a little bit harsh. The construction was gorgeous though, a smooth, somewhat oily wrapper and almost flawless in appearance. I would describe this cigar as the gorgeous woman at the party, but when you sat down and spoke with her, you found her a little immature and with limited education. I'm sure with some education and experience (IE: 6 months in the humidor) this woman (IE: cigar) would be a knockout (IE: excellent).
