I've been hoarding these for a while. I took one out to take with me on our FL trip last week, and I noticed the others in the box were starting to grow mold. d'oh! It's not too bad right now, and this one was one the least affected in the bunch. I figured I better start smoking them before they totally went to crap. The churchills, in cello, were fine. The tubos are the problem.

Welcome to the world of Fuente cigars wrapped in cedar (or in tubos). Seems you gotta keep a closer eye on them, moreso than other brands. Think

Wait... what?

Tubos I can understand silly metal but cedar...

Does that mean I have to dump them all out of my boxes (after all they are cedar too) or just the Fuentes?

Sounds like another one of those 'cigar disposal' tactics...

Thars cedar in them thar tubos too.

I don't know. I've just heard people mention to check on certain [Fuente] cigars becuase they tend to mold quickly (i.e. Anejos). Not sure why. It could be the humidity in the humidor in addition to the humipacks that are also placed in the boxes at the factory. Think The box[es] of GOF I picked up did have the humipacks in them IIR, but I removed those about the same time I received them. I bought a box of Sharks a few years back, and never even cracked the cellophane off the box for about 1.5 years or more. The talk of mold (along with my general curiosity to just see the cigars) made me open the box. Fortunately, there were no issues even with the humipack still in it.

Holy crap I didn't realize that was an 05. Ah well doesn't matter. Never been willing to spring the coin for those high falutin cigars. After all like davequincy would say:

"Just how much bettee than a woam can they BE?"
