YOU fail to recognize an attempt at humor by degrading southerners who choose a simplistic vocabulary.
When called on it, YOU claim it's not their intelligence you abhor but rather thier disdain for education.
And now YOU'RE twisiting it around while claiming to be the "least pretentious person"???
Holy chit.
Fuzz, I'm a Yankee. Born and raised here in Mass.
And I see and hear the so-called "educated" on a daily basis.
Makes me want to puke.
You tell one off color joke and you're labeled a racist. Meanwhile, they go around bad mouthing the southern mentality, the accent, and the simple things in life.
They are the very epitome of pretentious. And you embody this foul trait to the letter. You value education over character. You listen to a salutation and immediately determine a persons worth based on the terminology and the accent.
Least pretentious?
The lady doth protest too much...
lmao, I've told hundreds of off color jokes, in mixed company, with friends, who aren't offended because they know me.
And I do not value education over character, quite the opposite. What I do hate are people who think education is stupid, people who think education is indoctrination, people who think that they don't need education and those who are educated are the brainwashed ones. That's what I think is stupid and crazy and I will call anyone on it anywhere, anytime. I know people with only an apprenticeship who have more character than you and most of the people on this board who come after me on ever f*cking post will ever have. And I probably know more people with degrees, masters and doctorates than you have friends. Is that me acting pretentious? No, just a fact.
I determine a persons worth on terminology and accent? I'm constantly being told I say I'm smart, or educated or using big words just to look smart, or we don't need you educated northerners down south, when I'm not putting on airs. So who is judging? I don't judge on vocabulary, I judge on attitude. One of the smartest (and funniest) people I hung around with was a homeless dude on the New Haven green who just go out of prison. He would hang out there during the jazz concerts. We would have a great time shooting the sh*t with my friends, drinking and listening to jazz. But the guy couldn't have had more than an 8th grade education, but he had lived. Fun times. Wish I could have done more to help him, but I was young and hell, he didn't want it. Everyone has their own cross to bear.
So get off your high horse and quit accusing me of being on one, just because I have an opinion that is different from yours.
