I had an idea... to start, cut funding to departments by 5%. Everything. Any department that can't survive a 5% cut probably shouldn't exist. Where the cuts occur is up to the departments... take a salary or benefit cut for employees, fire some, etc..

We just need to authorize more debt.

Reductions to the government sector spending during a fragile economy would be horrible and put us back in a recession. Reductions to the private sector spending through increased taxation would be horrible and put us back in a recession.

Our only path forward is more debt. Trillions in additional debt. Everything else is political grandstanding.

Every government agency has grown by 50%+ in the past ten years alone, not to mention all the new agencies. We are really in for it when all the gov employees start retiring. There is no solution that wont have negative impact so we will go forward with the only logical solution..... more debt. Just like Greeece, we see the cliff approaching but we like driving fast so pedal to the metal bitches!

i agree with your conclusion.

remember america is made up of poorly educated people. we probably rank in the 30's in the world,
but all americans are economists and know how to fix our current financial crisis. we have a congress
and a senate, whose prime motivation is "get reelected."

it's a great job. everyone that works at the same place treats you with respect you probably don't deserve..
you get to dress nice and you have a staff that does everything for you. you read a speech they have
written for you so you can spend your time raising money to advertise your next "get reelected" party.

you can change your mind about enything you believed in and no one really cares, with few exceptions,
you are a whore, and no one cares what a whore thinks or says.

Entitlement Bandits -- How the Ryan Plan Would Curb Medicare and Medicaid Fraud

by Michael F. Cannon

This article appeared in National Review on July 4, 2011.

The budget blueprint crafted by Paul Ryan, passed by the House of Representatives, and voted down by the Senate would essentially give Medicare enrollees a voucher to purchase private coverage, and would change the federal government's contribution to each state's Medicaid program from an unlimited "matching" grant to a fixed "block" grant. These reforms deserve to come back from defeat, because the only alternatives for saving Medicare or Medicaid would either dramatically raise tax rates or have the government ration care to the elderly and disabled. What may be less widely appreciated, however, is that the Ryan proposal is our only hope of reducing the crushing levels of fraud in Medicare and Medicaid.

The three most salient characteristics of Medicare and Medicaid fraud are: It's brazen, it's ubiquitous, and it's other people's money, so nobody cares.

The Idiocy Continues.

We have elected the only people dumb enough to take the jobs. They are not smart, They are Mentally deficient to handle these things.

We got what we deserved.

Time for Americans to become involved in their government again or allow it to be even further degradated..
