Fabreeze! First clean the interior. The generously apply fabreeze to the headliner, carpet, seats and under the seats. Leave the car closed overnight. You should notice an improvement or the desired result. If not reapply fabreeze. It worked for me, but now I don't smoke in the car at all because I just got a new Navigator.

You think it would work just spray the cigar with Fabreeze???... nah... it probably wouldn't stay lit...

This is a truly radical solution, but it's the only thing that really works. Don't smoke in your car.

...yeah, I too smoke a cigar on my hour-plus drive after work. The old buggy smells of cigars, and it's great. And after one taxi ride to lunch, co-wrokers never ask me to chauffer them again.

Do what my wife did. Leave a gallon of milk in the trunk for 2 weeks. Then she will only smell the unpleasant milk odor. You can then kindly offer to smoke a few cigars in the car to get rid of the milk odor. (Baking soda gets rid of many odors.)

Do what I do...Don't let your wife in your car..Tell her to take her own car..If you both go out together, take her car...I smoke in my car and my wife has never been in my car (not to mention the passenger side seatbelt buckle doesn't work)..I drive 30-40 minutes to work each way everyday and I like to pass the time enjoying a nice cigar...Febreeze does works wonders too..LOL

1. Leave all the windows down while you are working and overnight. 2. keep a wet dog in the backseat. 3. get a job closer to home. 4. get a motorcycle. 5. get a wife like explaindildochick.

e-Chick might very well not like the stale cigar smoke in the car either ... MrsS tolerates cigar smoke as well as any of you might wish your wife did, but doesn't care much for the stale smoke smell ... frankly, I'm not sure I am .... I don't smoke in the house at all for that reason and seldom smoke in the car ... and then only with fully opened windows. But, like some of the rest of you, I know if I drove the hour + that it takes me to get to work, temptation would overwhelm me ... I'll bet if I lit one on the train as I went to or from work, I'd make tomorrow's news headlines.

jgjam: Did you ever consider buying "fresh" cigars, then your car would only smell of "fresh" cigar smoke. JonR

what works for me is to always have the windows open to some degree while smoking/driving, and never run any heat or A/C as the smell seems to stay a long time in my ventilation system. After the cigar is out and the smoke has cleared I run the vents for a minute to clear any residual odor. When I get to my destination I leave the windows cracked open a little. A spritz of fabreeze on the weekends keeps the upholstry fresh.

Wasn't Fabreeze one of the heads of the five families Michael Corleone massacred during the Christening of his Godchild?

I use the Ozuem also. Just spray a few short blasts when you exit the car, because if you spray when your in it you won't be able to stay very long. I also spray the intake of the A/C once a week and it works great.

don't use your ash tray. it turns into a bad cigar air freshener. remind the little woman of her vows "for better or worse"! all the other stuff the other guys said work too. it sounds like a commercial. keep smokin'! tell her to take up cigars. hang in there pal.

Forgot to mention that it's a company car and I occassionally have passengers... slimboli you mentioned the Csonka air purifier with good results... which model are you using... don't they have two units that can be used in a car... one specifically for a car and one that can be used either with ac or dc?

I can't attest to how well they work, but I am familliar with the models. They make 4 different ones now, two of which are applicable to autos: The 'Original' runs on DC or AC and is for both home and auto use ($190 street price). Their 'Auto' model is DC only and is a little less expensive ($125 street price).

I use the "cheap" auto ionizer that I got here on "this unnamed web site"...oh what the hell...here on CB. It does seem to help, especially if you like the smell of fresh mowed grass. But I also put some baking soda in the ash trays, still waiting to get stopped by the cops and try to explain what it is...hehe...69
