The thing that gets me is that Cash hadn't been heard from in years and then he's gonna come back with some lame rip off song? Dude, just stay gone and die already. How many good songs do NIN have? 3? Ok, 5 at the most. Did he really have to come back and ruin one of them? The video was painful to watch. All he did was ruin one of NIN few good songs and their fan base. Couldn't he ruin a Creed or Motley Crue song instead? He went out with a whimper and I can't believe people actually bought that.
Nobody pleases everyone but to get down on JC like that...I just don't get it. This is from someone who is anything BUT a country music fan. Johnny was in a category of his own, like Dylan and Lennon. He changed that NIN song, which I liked originally, but his version is powerful as well. To say what you've said about one of the most iconic, influential and generally beloved singer/songwriters of our time....well, like I said, I don't get it. It would interest me to know who you DO like in music. Personally, I have never been a huge Elvis fan but I know what he did for music and, as much of a target as he made of himself in the end, I would never have wished he "die already" even back then.
Really, a very callous thing to say and it might say a lot about who you are.
