Do you take your cigars "neat" or do you enjoy other activities at the same time? With my cigars, I enjoy conversation, a good novel, or some exotic Afro-Caribbean or other world music. Just curious.

For me, a cigar induces relaxation ... since music, good conversation, certain beverages, reading, et al are also very relaxing, a good cigar in combination with any of those is doubly relaxing ... I wrote here about the pleasure of a good cigar and my favorite beverage while at a jazz festival recently, but sharing an evening cigar and a pleasant conversation with Mr/Mrs NextDoorNeighbor or sitting on the patio with a good cigar and the Sunday paper are great pleasures too ... for me, though, the topper of all is the once-a-year pleasure I get of spending a few days hiking and fishing in the mountains, then sitting around the campfire with friends I've known since I was about 5 or 6 yo, sipping a select beverage, and slowly puffing on a fine cigar ... that's such an intoxicating experience that even ol' Bob actually starts sounding good as he strums his guitar and sings (?) Beattle tunes ... talk about Rocky Mountain-high!!!

but, for the best of all: sharing a hot tub on a pleasant evening, slowly puffing on a cigar and sipping a wonderful beverage ... one thing sorta leads to another, and .... 'nuff said.

I think I once read that Mean especially enjoys his during church service. :) Me, early morning on the back porch with some freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee with the morning paper or a good novel. For a special occasion, nothing beats sitting around a campfire with a cold beverage after an evening of hunting and dinner over open flame.

I also enjoy a few glasses of port wine with my cigars or a few pints of a fine stout, unless I am on the golf course. I just received a bottle of Martell *V*S* Cognac. I don't know much about Cognac and I don't remember ever drinking the stuff. Has anyone ever tried Cognac with cigars and if so what did you think?

I know it sounds funny but! VSGs and a fine sippin Tequila is/are my favorite!(this really works, forget about what I'm about to say,I'm a sick fugger I konw, just remember VSG+TEQ),now me personally I'd throw in a slightly burnt out campfire and just a few hard core night time dirtbike riders so I can get a whiff of Golden Spectro(two stroke oil) in the air.Oh Man! I think I'll see if the boy wants to go riding in the desert this weekend.

Definitely while having a pint or two at Schatzi (a cigar friendly restaurant in So. Cal). I only have a smoke once or twice a week. I've found it makes back yard work much more relaxing and pleasant on the weekends. I'll light up while doing pond maint., a bit of landscape trimming, etc. Good excuse for an afternoon beer too.

I enjoy a cigar poolside watching my dogs run around the pool and chase birds, etc! They are Vizslas (Hungarian Bird dogs) and just love everybody! Gus and Forrest (named after Forrest Gump) "Run Forrest, run"! They are both running fools! Like to read and relax while smoking cigars! Charlie

Father's Day sightings...half done conrona buying a lottery ticket, unlight Butera leaving an eatery in the Texas hill country, a big ring smoke behind the wheel of a 74 town Car out for a Sunday drive with mama. It was a great day. Hope you all had a memorable cigar.

Mrs and I had a nice Sunday brunch in the morning, watched a ballgame in the afternoon, then went out to dinner with 3 of our 4 sons (oldest lives in Boston; too far to come for dinner). After dinner everyone ame back to our house where we put on a tape of the Tyson/Lewis fight from last week, lit cigars and watched the fight from the patio ... no suspense as to who'd win, but inasmuch as none of us had seen it yet, it made for interesting viewing/conversation as we enjoyed the time together ... gotta tell you, it's pretty nice to associate with a bunch of guys you really like and who all just happen to be your sons ... all in all, a great day
