I disagree.
Right now I've got Idi Amin Jr. creating LOTS of jobs in the auto sector. Because he's jacked-up CAFE regulations, and imposed greater safety and emissions standards, the tech sector of the automotive industry is humming. They can't hire them fast enough.
I thought I was in for a 1- to 2-year campaign to find a job. Instead it only took me two months, and I was almost literally beating them off with a stick. I had a REALLY hard time being descrete about it, to the point where it was a joke among my colleges (who were also looking for jobs).
Unfortunately, this will all come with a significant price...when you go to buy a new car. After all, someone has to PAY for all of that innovation. Traditionally, this was figured out by the company selling the product, and rolled into the price of the product for an extended period of time. Now, the government is either going to take it out of your pocketbooks, the auto companies will raise the price of their cars, or both.
But I got mine. That's all that matters.
(BTW, I'm no longer in the auto sector anymore.)
