I actually kinda hoped McCain would win in 2008. Much better eye candy. Palin of course, but also Meghan McCain. RAWR!

What pearls of wisdom are flowing out of her mouth NOW (shoulders slumped over & grimacing in anticipation w/wa wa sounding trombone music in background)?
Brick wall

To think that I once liked this spunky, quick- witted woman... and then she was picked as McLame's running mate and she sold her soul to the devil.

IMVHO, if she ever runs for President on the Tea Party ticket, that'll be the end of of that party as a serious political voice.

I don't think she's running for a damn thing. Too late for a mythical "Tea Party" bloc to post a candidate.

What Sarah has and will continue to do is sit on the sidelines and use her voice to back conservative ideas, candidates and goals. She's done well for herself in the last election cycle. Only one candidate she's stumped for didn't win the office they were seeking. That's pretty damn good.

I will forever be endeared to Palin for her stance on special needs children. She said she would be an advocate for them in the White House. They still don't have a voice. With all of the rampant cuts in budgets the 1st things to go are special needs programs.

People only see her for her good lucks and boobs and fail to acknowledge she was the only person out of the the last Presidential election that had any REAL Executive experience. Experience matters. You can't fake your way through this job and there isn't time for OJT like the Kenyan King has shown us. He's out of his element and is taking us down the wrong path at the wrong time. The recession...perhaps depression is a better term...has been lengthened by his own spending and policy. He's running out of money and wants another TRILLION. Please. WAKE UP.

Mythical tea party bloc, interesting. I think it exists, it's just not in any way significant anymore, but we agree it seems for the most part.

The Alaskan Barbie's stance on special needs children is fine, but she's hardly special for that. Look at all the work the Kennedys have done for 40 years on the issue.

"With all of the rampant cuts in budgets the 1st things to go are special needs programs."

This is an example of how conservatives don't want a 'smaller' government. They want a government that spends money on what they like, need or want.

You misunderstood. There's no formal "Tea Party"...therefore there's no Tea Party candidate to vote for on the ballot. There are local candidates that are Tea Party backed and some Congress and Senate runs as well.

As far as the Kennedy's guilting into Special Olympics because Ol' Joe thought it best to lobotomize one of the clan...whatever. Keep on believing that they're really nice people and Camelot was a swell place.

Sarah understands what it's like from the trenches as well as I do just what goes into taking care of a child with special needs. There's other BOTL's that are in "The Club" too.

As far as "smaller government" I really wish you could visit your Utopian place and live there. It exists only in dreams and Sci-Fi novels. Government is the enemy. If it's powerful enough to rob you blind it's powerful enough to strip away from the people that can't fend for themselves. You're rudimentary understanding of Conversativism is limited to what you read at the DailyKos and the Huff. You're just like Rick with the blinders. There's no taking them off of both of you. Even when you're faced with irrefutable proof or evidence you deny it.

I know there isn't a formal tea party, it's a block of voters from the republican party and has been since 2 days after the first time the tea party was on tv.

To go after the kennedy's for their work with the special needs is ludicrous. Before they started it was common to lobotomized, they helped change that.

Dude, smoke a joint and relax. Your irrational hatred is causing you to say irrational things.

You're problem is that you're high. Sitting on the couch folding laundry.

Yeah, the Kennedy Klan and their "affiliation" to the Special Olympics is just a guilt offering. Nothing more. See it for what it really is. One week a year they fly out to wherever the host city is and say a few words. That's it...goodnight. For all the millions they've made off the backs of America...that's it.

Irrational? Facts really suck to you.

In 1949, about 5,000 lobotomies were performed in the U.S. Some estimates place the total number of lobotomies performed in the U.S. from the 1930s through the 1950s as high as 50,000.
Kennedy's sister Rosemary received one of Freeman's ice-pick lobotomies, resulting in a severe mental impairment that left her paralysed, incoherent, and incontinent. According to some accounts, Rosemary had suffered from a mild mental retardation, which the lobotomy was supposed to fix.

Oops? What did I say that was incorrect? I said lobotomies used to be done often, it was considered a medically sound treatment at the time. Medical technology and knowledge change. Someday we'll think radiation and chemo were barbaric. What happened after they went through that they is still started the special olympics and worked hard to change attitudes.

Irrational hatred is not admirable.

So you are of the opinion that the Kennedy's have responsibility to the rest of us relative "have nots"? LOL!!!

(Most seriously, as to the other matter, you must know that I beleive we all, through our governments, have a great responsibility to those with special needs. We are on the same page, albeit from very different perspectives.)

Without a doubt, she is a VERY capable politician and has much more hands-on experience than Obama. No doubt about that, Doc. Problem is her message sounds tediously repetitious & one dimensional to me after a while, especially after she lugs (and defends) the McLame baggage. This tarnishes her credibility IMO. There are other interesting & less partisan "talking heads" out there such as ****** Morris & even Pat Buchanan.

Yes, her stance on special need kids is what initially endeared her to me. I wasn't aware that she was still an advocate for the cause though.

And finally, yes, I agree that Obama has been an unmitigated disaster. It's a bit more complicated than just his spending policies but it's obvious that he's in waaaaay over his head despite being surrounded by experienced advisers. It appears that even though he wants the playing field leveled for the little guy, he doesn't like nor understand capitalism much. Which is ironic because his predecessor claimed to love the free market despite his failures as a businessman, so perhaps that's why he made sure that the small businessman got screwed while he helped the corporate folk. Perhaps a little payback in his eyes... LOL

It's impossilbe to have an adult conversation with you.

Sarah Palin has done some good work for disabled children. She promised more of this if they won the election.
You read these facts, and instead of accepting them and applauding her, you can't get beyond your contempt for her so you say she isn't special because someone else already did some nice things for the disabled. As if this somehow makes her work less important. That those who have been assisted through her efforts should instead thank the Kennedy family, because afterall THEY helped the disabled first.

I called this viewpoint cynical, and maybe it's not the right word.
You've got the time to tell me I'm wrong, but not the patience to answer a simple question without resorting to sophomoric outbursts.

You're a sad excuse for a BOTL.
I pity you.

And yes. Pity is the correct term.

So you are of the opinion that one should not criticise another's religious views in any way? Even when religious people keep bringing up their religion as their reasons for political viewpoints? What about when religious people go after someone for not believing like they do? That count too, or is it just that religious people with whom you agree should be protected? What about Islam? Never seen a positive thing said about Islam here and you have said nothing. So spare me the outrage.

lol How you can take such offense to 'I don't think that means what you think it means.' is amusing. If you want to have an 'adult' conversation, perhaps explain what you meant instead of whining.

I didn't say anything bad about Palin wanting to help disabled children, nothing at all. I did bring up the Kennedys who have done great work with the disabled as well and because of hatred of all things 'left' look at the responses. So to say I'm being partisan and full of contempt, work on your side first.

Pity me? You are such an adult. Thanks for your example.

Actually, I took no offense to "I don't think that means what you think it means".
How can you POSSIBLY interpret "then help me out here. What word am I looking for?" as me being offended???

The fact that you are unable or unwilling to comprehend this simple series as it happens in real time, shows me that my pity is well aimed.

Didn't seem overly important at the time.
Figured there wouldn't be an anal f*ck more hell-bent set on being a pr*ck then figuring out what I meant by the context in which it was provided.

Actually, I didn't get offensive when you corrected me.
You have a serious lapse in your memory, which is odd because all you have to do is read the thread to follow it.

Your anger is misguided.

Sounds like somebody needs a dose of self-esteem .
Which brings us all the way back to pity.

And for the record, you don't strike me as the type to say "dude".
It reads funny. For what it's worth, I'd lose the homie 'tude and stick to your word-a-day.

Allrighty then, I'd ask you to identify where I started the 'anger' on this thread, but I don't really care anymore and I was never angry.

Secondly, you admitted you were wrong, yet you continue to argue over the point.

Third, seems like no matter what I say, dumb it down with dude, talk normally with large words, it just isn't sufficient for your obvious high standards, high standards that include not knowing the definition of words you actually use.

And finally, I'll give you some 'tude. You are addle-minded and an argumenative b*tch to start and keep arguing over this trivial matter. But congratulations on working really hard to be extra stupid today. The effort shows.

And finally, I'll give you some 'tude. You are addle-minded and an argumenative b*tch to start and keep arguing over this trivial matter. But congratulations on working really hard to be extra stupid today. The effort shows.

A very angry and verbose post.
Which brings us back to irony.

And then back again to pity.

Seriously We have done worse. Better be scared ****less of The Newt or Leroy (his middle name) ,however he comes across,he says he has grand ideas for this country, the only thing grand is his EGO!!
