As of the past 10- 12 years or so, we no longer have a domestic open market either. Price collusion, monopolies, & cronyism/favoritism abound. Little guy "start-ups" these days are very, very lucky if they survive the first year or two. Credit lines are smaller and existing/potential customers are usually strapped or have reduced budgets.
As far as NAFTA's concerned, Perot was right. Can you hear the whoosh sound of departing jobs?
