Have you ever heard of using cigar butts/ashes as a seasoning for chili or stew? My friend was trying to convince me of this, but he is a well-known bull****ter, like myself.

heard of it, never believed it either. Seen recipes with cigar ashes listed. Still don't believe it.

My sister-in-law did this about 2 years ago for my brother in some chilli. She didn't eat it, but he said he couldn't tell a difference one way or the other.

Don't laugh ... worse things have been used as 'seasoning' for chili.

A few years back, there was this guy that used 'cow pies' in his chili (I believe he was from Texas) ... and won first place in a chili cook-off! No kidding ... it was in the news!

I have a recipe that calls for 'red ants' ...

Everyone better keep their butts and ashes out of my chilly! I've heard of it but never considered trying, I put the butts in the compost and the compost on the peppers/tomatoes....close enough.

I have dipped cow nuts in sauce once and had a frog sit in my chili til it died. Never did the cigar ash thing though.

OMG, I have to ask: were they cooked and you ate them, or did you just lick the sauce off?

Nothin wrong with some nice frog a** and a little bat feet in the sauce. Its a magical ingredient that makes you jump really high for about 20 minutes. Add more frog for good tongue extension. Im sure that your girl(s) will appreciate that one. hehe.
