Hi Gang,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been around cigars all of my life. My dad (who is now 84 and still going strong) has always been the Winston Churchill of our family. He seems to have a cigar going at all times! It was natural for me to take up the habit when I was old enough. I have been a cigar smoker now for 25 years.

I recently stumbled upon this interesting web site and thought I would sign up to hang with fellow cigar smokers. ( I don't know of too many in my circles). I have been reading the forums for the last several days and find you guys to be a cool group of cigar nuts! ;o)

The auction part of the site is definitely entertaining! I enjoyed reading the archives about OVER BIDDING! Something I found very curious as I checked out some of the lots currently active. (scratches head in wonder).

Anyway, I am trying my hand in a few, though I doubt I will get them for the price I would pay. ;o)

Having been active on EBAY for the last 4 years, I think it has taught me to remove all emotion from an auction, set your limit and STICK TO IT!

Anyway...Thats me.

Hope to chat with you all soon!

Rick.

Welcome, goose. Good idea to just set your limit and let the auction roll. Great chance the cigars you're looking for will be back up for bid soon. This forum is a great place (now don't trust everyone, though!) to ask opinions. You can trust me; don't bid on Bolivar Fuertes - they're nasty. Some guy, initials CL, bids on them alot. Just let him have 'em all.

Hee hee! :o) You can just call me GOOSE if you like. And don't forget...I have been lurking about and I KNOW your favorites! ;o) --- Have no fear...I am too much of a cheap ass to ever be a threat on "most" of those premium gar auctions. --- Thanks for the welcomes guys! --- P.S. --- Why doesn't this forum allow for punctuation??

...ahhhhhh ... it's so nice to have another 'old timer' join us. Now you can help me and a few others deal with these 'young whipper-snappers' ... hehehe!

One of the little used, but great features of this (and several other forums) is the 'Search Archive' feature. Any questions you may have, most likely have been 'beaten' to death here ... and it's a good idea to do a search first. You most likely will find your answers ... and besides, it will help you to avoid the 'rath of Slimboli' !!!

Oh ... wait a minute ... that's me! LOL! Joking aside ... welcome to our extremely colorful dysfunctional family ...

Thanks guys and HELLoooo Slim! -- Your reputation preceeds you as I have been reading your posts for several days... ;o) ---- Have definitely been using the search feature. -- I am not new to message boards as it seems I have one for every facet of my life! --- Stunt Kites, Model Trains, Video Games, Music and now Cigars! --- I think I have all my bases covered pretty well now with this latest addition! :o) -- Cigar smoking is part of many of my other activities, especially my stunt kite flying down at the beach! -- I love sitting there looking at the wonderful NW scenery and having a great smoke in between flying sessions!

Oh! One more thing... I can already see that I am probably going to need to pick up another couple of humidors if I stay around those auction sections too long! ;o)

Hi Mr. Mean! --- Cool! Thats a pretty large spread for a N guage layout! I modeled that gauge back when I was in high School --- We have "O" gauge here (I love all the sound effects, digital control and puffing smoke) and it runs around the perimeter of our sunken living room complete with a fully detailed and lighted town in one corner along with a trolley that runs the length of the room along our full length window sil. -- Has been in a couple of train magazines as a matter of fact. --- Trains are SO FUN! -- They keep ya young too! ;o) --- Thanks for the welcome!

That's is very cool. Mine is my winter project. Just about done with the town and the switch yard. Then it's off to the rolling hills and the mountain-lumber yard-river area. Keeps me sane in these Illinois winters. Off to burn a AF Hemingway maduro.

The GOOSE has landed! It's about time! Only, you didn't quite make it clear if you're MALE or FEMALE...of course, we'll assume MALE unless pictures of a scantily clothed, nipple protruding, thigh bearing, sh*t-eating grin female with the name Chris holding a cigar appears...can you set that up for the guys?

And X...what the **** did THAT mean? Fumble??? I think not! Fumble is NOT in my vocab...I HATE football...LOL!
