I had to work a area bike rally this past weekend for a small town. We also gathered intelligence on some organized groups.....Outlaws; Hells Angels; Southern Brotherhood and so on. We set up a road check coming into the hot springs where the rally was concentrated and we managed to stop one guy from Atlanta, GA. He was a weekend warrior as we call them (you know.....has a decent job but wants to let loose on the weekends). He got our attention with all the pot poured out in his van, the story however centers on his cigars which were of good taste. R&J's and the such. While we wrote him a citation for possession I asked him if he liked cigars more or weed. After much soul searching and seeing it in his eyes he said it was a tie. I laughed and told him at least he was honest. BTW- we let him keep his cigars....I tried to talked the state trooper into seizing them for me but I figured we already put a dent in his day why ruin it further. Thought it was a funny story. My job does have some funny times. Happy 4th to all!
