The Other Shoe Drops: First the NDAA, Now the Enemy Expatriation Act (EEA)

If You Thought NDAA was bad,Meet the EEA:
Remember all of the intense debate among the media and political elite about whether or not the NDAA actually applied to American citizens? For the first few weeks after the news community discovered the language of the legislation being considered in congress, various members of congress told us that no, the NDAA did not apply to U.S. Citizens. So for weeks, the debate was centered around this issue. As we covered here at RFT, the Obama administration actually asked for the specific language of the bill to permit the indefinite detainment of U.S. Citizens, effectively ending Habeas Corpus in the United States.
The effect of the “false debate” over the language of the bill and it’s application to legal U.S. Citizens, stunted any opposition to it. By the time it was exposed as illegal and unconstitutional, there was no time for the public to form an effective opposition to the legislation. As a result, on new years eve 2011, while the county celebrated, President Obama signed the bill into law. If you thought that is where the story ends, you’re wrong. Enter the EEA, or Enemy Expatriation Act.
What is the EEA?
The Enemy Expatriation Act or HR 3166 and S. 1698, sponsored by Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Charles Dent (R-PA), would allow the U.S. Government to strip you of your nationality for ‘engaging in, or purposefully and materially supporting, hostilities against the United States. Sounds OK, right? It’s all about fighting terrorism, right? Actually, it’s not OK…
The language in the bill is so vague, that one has to believe that it is vague by design. Under this bill, you could have your nationality revoked simply for supporting anti-government views or attending a protest such as the “occupy” movement. Sounds extreme? Actually, it’s not. If you take this bill’s meaning to it’s logical conclusion, the government can literally strip Anyone of their citizenship for any reason that it deems necessary. So the chilling effect on free speech and 1st amendment rights will be massive.
What Will be the Fallout ?
Our theory here at RFT is that the EEA exposes the original intent of the NDAA. The NDAA was meant from the very beginning to apply to citizens, and the EEA is just another loophole to ensure that the government can detain anyone, regardless of their legal status as a citizen and therefore usurping their constitutional rights to a lawyer and a due process under the law. It is unconstitutional for the government to pass legislation that would strip U.S. Citizens of their God-Given status as free people.
Our rights under the constitution are permanent, and cannot be abolished by any governmental dictate. Sure, they can pass all the laws they want, but they cannot usurp the natural and universal laws defined in the constitution and bill of rights. The NDAA and the EEA are vague pieces of legislation, designed ultimately to oppress dissent and protest among the citizenry.
This is how these two pieces of legislation will work:
Say you write an article that is critical of government policy or lead a large protest against the government. Someone in the government (because neither piece of legislation defines who) will declare you a threat to the security of the country, and target you for detainment under the NDAA. This allows the military to conduct an operation to capture you and spirit you away to a location such as a secret CIA rendition camp. Meanwhile, to ensure that there are no legal issues, the government will strip you of your citizenship under the EEA, which would mean they can then hold, interrogate and torture you indefinitely.
Conclusion
It is clear now that the U.S. Government has declared war on the American people and the Bill of Rights. The Enemy Expatriation Act exposes the true intent of the government and the lie that the NDAA does affect citizens. Everyone needs to be vigilant and spread the word, in order to educate one another about these issues.
