500 billion USD in tax increases are coming on January 1 2013 but it is not an election topic. The Congressional Budget Office already has stated that it will put the US economy into a recession.

SLASH the budget...ya know the thing that Congress is SUPPOSED to pass EVERY year, but hasn't since the Kenyan King has been in power.

Let's FINALLY get a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution put in place. These criminals with our taxpaying dollars at hostage have overspent on Stupidity.

There are cuts that need to be made.

The military NEEDS a drastic haircut. Sorry, but putting a base in every continent, in every nation, in every city isn't cost prohibitive! We can still maintain a top notch fighting force with upgraded weapon systems AND bring the troops home.

This constant kicking the can down the road has enabled this poor behavior that has put us in this place. Now they're all pointing at each other placing blame on parties? No...start the treason trials already and dereliction of duty charges. We have the laws already on the books time to use them!

I admire how the two options seem to take a complex and difficult problem, fraught with detailed choices, and reduce it to a simple go left or go right decision. For a moment they almost looked like real choices. But life is so much better with simple, simple choices, and the bliss of ignoring details – is it not?

I’m imagining how you assess the complexity of cigars . . . .

You should really consider smoking 24 hours a day then.

I know – let’s take all that money from the Reagan trickle down and pay off the debt. It should be along any day now . . . .

Both choices have been tried by one administration or another, and both choices have failed to the tune of $58 trillion dollars give or take a billion here and there.

So faced with inheriting reckless Bush economic policies, Clinton chose which one of these approaches?

Us Libertarians are the only ones with the balls to do that. Never happen with either one of the jokers running right now.

This is an interesting video presentation about the deficit. Tony Robbins talks about what a trillion really is, and if we taxed the rich, hell, took all profits from all Fortune 500 companies, all the millionaires, etc, etc, etc, it wouldn't come close to paying down even one year worth of debt. It takes 10 billion dollars a day to run the US, and we have to borrow 4 billion just to pay for it. Some interesting facts presented here.

Kick -ass! The only thing missing is a collapse of lender confidence that leads to forced austerity as the USA losses its ability to borrow money.

(I've said all along, the Obama Cone of Protection was a lot smaller than people expected)
