They have recently come out with a newer version of Climmax beads that hold 65% humidity for those of us that like our cigars a little on the dry side.I would probably still go with the 70% beads for long term storage and aging but I will be picking up some 65% beads for my "on deck" smoking humidors.If anyone is interested in where you can find both items in 65% and 70% in 1lb,1/2lb and 1/4lb packages LMK. I just thought I was thinking out loud...Oh, yeah, climmax beads, you can also tie knots in scarves and...oh, never mind...but another thought just came to mind...diapers hold humidity too...gotta run, all these thoughts about humidi-titty (opps, my bad again!) are making me have to tinkle....hahhahhah....have fun with your beads!

So...Is it best to buy the Humidifier that has the beads in it, or do you guys use them in your own container?

Is this for real? If so, tell me what these supposedly do for a humidor and how they've worked for your cigars. If you've had success storing with these, then I might want to try them. thanks for any info.

What theyare is very small crystals that swell up like 50 times their original size when you add water.I've only used a small sample,they work.there are others that swear by them and you need add only distilled water.Here is some info from one company that sells them.Slim had posted on an earlier thread about them but I can't find it,I only wanted to mention they now have a 65% media to go along with their 70%.................:
Climmax Premier Media is the same tried, tested, and proven technology that is used by museums to protect priceless works of art and one of a kind manuscripts. If it is good enough to protect multi-million dollar works of art, it will protect your cigar investment better than any other humidification medium on the market today. The Climmax Premier Media are sold in 1/4, 1/2, and 1 pound increments and will provide precise humidification control for approximately 5 cubic feet per pound. The media should be stored in a water-tight, open top container and placed inside your humidor. The media are manufactured to maintain 70% humidity with a variance of +/- 2% RH. All you need to add is distilled water.

Goose,check out that other forum I mentioned.There are a few guys over there that have been using them for a while now.
