Gents, I just had my first experience with CI. As many of you know, I have been a very loyal and frequent CB customer for some time, and have been very satisfied. Knowing CI's association with CB, I had no worries about doing business with CI. Therefore, when I saw a special deal on La Luna LHB I jumped at the chance to try CI out. I ordered the LHB Robusto over three weeks ago. After not receiving them, and hearing nothing after two weeks, I took the initiative and called to check on them. The customer service agent informed me you were out of that size, and was not sure if you would ever get more in. (Good thing I was not counting on them for a special occasion or get-together, etc.) It seems to me, I should have been notified, and at least given another choice. I chose another size (the Churchill...not offered at the same price mind you). At this time I have not received the cigars after 3 weeks. I am a bit put out as I had assumed CI and CB to be the same entity. I have found that this is not the case. Does anyone know specifics of their relationship? After having nothing but great experiences here I am a bit confused....I never even received confirmation of my orders, which is standard at CB. Anyone have similar or contrary experiences?

Don't let this one experience with CI ruin your opinion of them. I have made quite a few purchases from them and everything was more than perfect. Being that I live at a military base overseas (Keflavik, Iceland), I needed to find a reputable company that would be willing to send good quality cigars over here to the land of fire and ice. CI not only gets orders to me super fast, they also package the items secure enough to protect them on the journey (except for some RyJ Bullies, but thats another post). Whether it be Cigarbid, Cigars International, or uBid (If you haven't looked there it would be a good idea to. CI also auctions there too, and somtimes there are REALLY good deals there)I have never had any problems, and I have probably placed 20+ orders. Also, you must have just missed the last of the La Lunas because it was only three weeks ago that I placed my order for them and I got mine in four days. So, I would just write this one incident off as being a something that dosen't happen too often, and give CI another chance.

I too have had excellent service from both CA and CB. They are 'one-in-the-same'. CB is just the auction site for the parent company CI ... also, check Egghead/Onsale auctions and their 'Express Auction'. It's only lasts one hour, and I've made a killing there many times. The cigars you find there are mainly from CB/CI, but once in awhile you will also find them from Jewlerey Direct ... and I don't know where they get them.

My bad experience was at the Ubid site after winning a bid they contacted me wanting new credit card info. I immediately responded and after 3 different e-mails never got a response. Oh well.

Ubid's customer service has a lot to be desired. I've had good luck with them ... as long as nothing went wrong with my order, and I had to contact someone!

They are indeed the same company (CB and CI). When I won some 5 vegas, I received the vintage, not the "regular". I contacted the customer service through CB, and ordered some additional smokes from the CI web page (saving some shipping costs!) Same great folks, and although the order was screwed up originally, they came through with flying colors.
