I quickly outgrew my one and only true humidor. To keep up with my winning bids, I put boxes into a large plastic storage container, the ones used to store clothing and stuff in the attic. Anyhow, I put in the humidifying device, etc and the temp and humidity stayed pretty constant, but not perfect. On the indirect advice of this board and others like it, I switched from the simple plastic bin to a cooler. Thinking the insulation would help the temperature fluctuations and humidity level remain even more constant. WRONG! The temp and humidity now fluctuate much more, as evidenced by my digital hygrometer which shows max and min. Any explanations from the gallery? Could it be too air tight? Please help.

If you store the hygrometer in a zip-lock baggy you will find the humidity will not fluctuate as much.

I know of another place to put your hygrometer, but the humidity is too high and the temperature stays around 98.6 degress F.......:)

ouch!!!.... I have an igloo cooler 'dor (don't tell anyone) and mine stays very happy and constant. I keep a soap dish at the bottom, with a sponge and 50/50 solution & distilled water.

I put mine there and it's still stuck. Any advice on getting them out? :)
