The United States has signed a new military agreement with South Korea that would see US troops come to Seoul’s aid in the case of a low-level provocation by the North. This comes amid heightened tensions in the region.

A spokesman for South Korea's defense ministry told reporters in Seoul on Monday that existing agreements provide for US support should a full-scale conflict break out, until now, there had been no provisions for such support in the case of a low-level incident.

"This allows both nations to jointly respond to the North's local provocations, with the South taking the lead and the US in support," Kim Min-Seok said. "It will have the effect of preventing the North from daring to provoke us."

The chairman of South Korea's joint chiefs of staff, General Jung Seung-Jo, said the deal would provide for a "strong retaliation" that would ensure that Pyongyang would come to "bitterly regret" any act of provocation.

A statement posted on the website of the US Forces South Korea said the Combined Counter-Provocation Plan, which was signed on Friday, "improved our combined readiness posture to allow us to immediately and decisively respond to any North Korean provocation."

And here I thought globalists such as yourself salivated over the opportunity to sell "things" to support the War Machine??? They're prolly more of a legit target for concern than anything we've been worried about in the Middle East (considering oil was "never " the reason we went there) Liar

So the US agrees to get into a 'police action' in South Korea.
Then China and Russia agree to come to the aid of North Korea.

It's deja vu all over again.

China mobilizing troops, jets near N. Korean border, US officials say
published April 01, 2013 Washington Free Beacon

China has placed military forces on heightened alert in the northeastern part of the country as tensions mount on the Korean peninsula following recent threats by Pyongyang to attack, U.S. officials said.

Reports from the region reveal the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) recently increased its military posture in response to the heightened tensions, specifically North Korea's declaration of a "state of war" and threats to conduct missile attacks against the United States and South Korea.

According to the officials, the PLA has stepped up military mobilization in the border region with North Korea since mid-March, including troop movements and warplane activity.

We're going to have to rip this Korea band-aid off eventually. Better now than giving them another 5 or 10 years so their missiles hit Fly Over territory.

Right now, the targets in their range aren't big priorities. Hawaii is filled with the Japanese, it isn't PC to drill oil in Alaska, and China owns California. So..... I guess we can wait.

I heard he didn't make his school's basketball team because his game was too "black"- either couldn't grasp or didn't like the team concept.
Look, I'm sure he excels at something but I don't know what it is. LOL
i suppose he unnerstan's some 50 cent words and he's clean... That's a start.

Boy, have we lowered our expectations since dubya.

I remember that first bombing too. Part of me admired Bush's patriotic fervor. The other part of me thought he was an opportunist loon with a hidden agenda that would benefit everyone but the average American taxpayer.

Brother, I never fully understood that about him (he's good at feigning erudition unlike dubyadimwit ) until I saw him debate a true intellectual scholar, Alan Keyes, on the Constitution- a subject Obama supposedly taught in college.

IMHO he would be adequate as a fundraising advocate for ganja or similar.
