Don't know if this made the news in your part of the world, but The 77th fighter squadron, known as the Gamblers out of SHAW AFB lost one of their own in Afghanistan today.
The community is pretty shook up. Base was very quiet today.

The Shaw Airman was killed this week when his F16 crashed near Bagram, Afghanistan. The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
"Our condolences and prayers are with the family, friends and squadron members of Capt. Steel," said Col. Clay Hall, 20th Fighter Wing commander, in a statement. "This is a difficult time for Shaw AFB, but we are focused on taking care of the Steel family, our Airmen and continuing to execute the mission."
A 2006 Air Force Academy graduate, Captain Steel was one of six children in the family, and one of four children that followed the family's Air Force history with Steel's mother and father.
