They are bidding $7 each. These can be found over the counter, retail, at $5 or less.

Do a search ... this one was discussed about a week ago to great lengths. A lot of good feedback too! For instance, a local shop here in CA has Short Story's for $18.50 each ...

My local shop (in NYC) usually sells them at list price, which ends up at around $6.00 with taxes. However, they haven't had any for weeks. Also, I can't find singles anywhere on the internet and I don't want to buy a box. So I can see how these got bid up to the $7-8 range.

As Slim said, this point was discussed at some length about a week ago, but the price at your local store depends strictly on where "local" is for you ... the taxes on cigars here in Calif are beyond outrageous and a cigar that might retail for $5 or $6 in some parts of the country is $12 to $14 or more here ... by that comparison, $7 per for a Short Story is not overbidding, it's a bargain.

Since people have been talking about these cigars and overbidding I have been searching the web for them.
After 2 hours of searching and comparing I have found some pretty low prices for these smokes. BUT guess what. They don't have them in stock! If I want a box NOW not september and I am willing to pay for them why can't I? I trust this site and would pay $5.00 more for that trust. The local shops here also do not have these smokes. When they do they go for $8.00 each.
Theres a LOT of hot air around here about "I can get this for this price and I know this site". That **** does not help me! If I want them I will bid on them. Maybe my time is better spent making money than doing searches for things that do not exist.
I am not bidding on these, just playing devils advocate.

I know where you can get them for $103 ... but you have to backorder.

Unfortunately for you impatient types who must have instant gratification, with Fuente cigars, it just doesn't happen that way.

Fuente cigars of all types are very much in demand, and they can only produce so many each year. They will not rush them and that makes them scarce ... and very hard to come by, unless you get lucky. I did, and got a box of Short Stories only a week or so after ordering.

And a small apology to Rayder for the 'clueless' remark. Being new, he's entitled to one faux pas.

Now ... go read the rules! Hehehe!

my stash of short stories is quite low. I just hit the bottom row of the box. I called my regular source for them buth they're out. I had to settle for a box of the fuente cuban belicosos. Still under a hundred bucks. should be here monday or tuesday. Actually, I haven't tried them yet but with fuente, I'm never disatisfied.

You won't be disappointed. It's one of my favorites, and if it's a 'black foot', its got the sun-grown wrapper. I've only got one left ... and just can't bring myself to smoke it.

The best thing to do is to enter these as a favorite at as many sites you can find with a decent price. When they come in, they email you and you go up there and buy them.

I did just that last week, and provided my email address to one of the members here who also picked up a box of Classics for $169.95.

I get emailed about these at least twice a month from somewhere. No need to go searching around for them, just do what I do and they will be pestering you to buy them at retail or less! ;o)

Forgot to mention that as Slim said, they do seem to arrive in waves, so there can be dry spells everywhere from time to time. But when they start to hit the stores, the emails will start coming in and you can start looking for a credit card to put them on! ;o)
