My uncle will not live to see next week.

Two tours of Nam' and 30 years with BLM. A real pioneer spirit and one HELL of a man.

Not a pity thread. Just a call to those with veteran loved ones. We DO NOT get enough time.

Jamie,

Although he has not yet passed, you must already be feeling terribly deep loss for your uncle, father and self. If there were anything holy within my power that I could do to personally guide you through this surreal time, I would. Nevertheless, I am always available to talk about this or to just to shoot-the-****- if just to distract you for a while. Please feel free to call or email 24/7. I will be up for a long while tonight. In the meantime, know well that you and your family have my prayers that God give you and you receive the strength to take care of one another and to lessen your angst and grief.

Robert

P.S. I think that posting this on the political board where you hang out, was a fine thing to do,

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, he's been fighting stage 4 cancer for some time. This was a result of Agent Orange exposure that's why I posted it here. I personally know 3 good men that were taken from this world by exposure.

The hardest part is not seeing him during this last round of chemo, and feeling for my dad and cousins.

Everyone deals with this at some point and it's never easy. Looks like I'll have two uncles to drink a beer with next memorial day at the VA cemetery.

Sometimes a loved one passing away is a blessed, but sad event. You could go to see him even if he doesn't know you are there and to be there for your dad and other family. That might absolve yourself of so much guilt and hurt- and be of amazing comfort for them. That would also say more about you as a person to yourself, then you might imagine.

That's tough, my friend. At least his suffering on this plane will be over & he can begin anew soon.
Here's to his life!Beer

I just saw this thread too, as I don't venture into the political boards very often.

Prayers sent for the family at this most difficult time. Prayers sent that god may bring comfort to your uncle in his final days.

You make sure he knows how you feel about him, seems like we don't do that often enough.

He knows Mikey, we're a tight family. He's eaten a 1/2 cup of icecream and a few chips in the last 3 days and no fluids for two. Anytime now.....he'll be visiting my other uncle Earl.

Thanks y'all. Been a strange week appreciate the thoughts and prayers.

TW calls it his leisure suit 'cause it hangs loose and has flaps for keys.

Easy, brother, I know you pray & give up burnt offerings.

Sorry to hear.

And with the above posts, I normally do a lot of my praying on my motorcycle, and will keep your family in mind when firing up the bike.
