Everything I've read says Disney cleared everything with the Native Americans before production so there is no issue.

maybe. but if you do it prior you may have to kiss more ass than waiting until after. maybe some of those with kissed asses never would have cared anyway. Maybe disney just likes kissing ass?

Once you've kissed a few asses, a few more for safety doesn't really matter.
