Sad truth is that the 40 hour work week is disappearing in our society right now due to the economy. Pathetic part is she was telling people to make lemonade out of lemons, without suggesting a solution, which is a horrible perception for any politician to have. You think she'd better spin it by saying: The economy is slowly turning around and our workforce is learning skills, along with new sources of capital, and that it won't be long until we are chugging full speed again? Idiotic.

Come on guys. I don’t have time to check this out, but don’t you find the positioning of the quotation marks even the slightest bit suspicious? I mean, the only thing this article is willing to claim she actually said is “pursue your happiness … follow your passion.” The rest of it is contextual positioning…

Ok… after writing that, I decided I may as well look up the transcript. And, as I suspected, you guys have been duped again.

Here’s what the article Jack posted is trying to claim this woman said: “losing that 40-hour work week will really free Americans to “pursue your happiness … follow your passion.”” Look carefully at the positioning of the quotation marks. It’s a sure sign that you’re about to be lied to when the actual quotes take up less than half the sentence.

Here’s what Pelosi actually said: “More than one employer involved in a contract. And that has to be certainly clarified. There's so much the president can do within the law. But there is some leeway to facilitate as we are in the Congress under the exchanges. So, I'm optimistic, because we will find a path. For the slower members of the audience, she isn’t saying the 40 hr work week is an opportunity to pursue crap. She’s saying having a healthy life will allow americans to pursue their happiness.
