Oh yes…it was '86…Nicaragua. Weren't supposed to be there but there we were. Quonset huts…kinda looked like the set of the 70's tv show "Baa Baa Black Sheep" about WWII flying Ace "Pappy" Boyington and his squadron…the whole area was divided in two. GI's on one side and the other side had guys with longer hair, beards, shorts, Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses flying unmarked C-130's. I think they might've made a movie about that too called "Air America"…it was the only place I ever live fired my M-16 that wasn't a shooting range.
As for the mildew, it was too damned hot and we were sweating too damned much plus the fact we were moving all the time for mildew to even set in.
Just remember "Say No!" to drugs. Our government does!
