Are you arguing a select set of people which need to be in charge?
Are you suggesting some sort of proletariat revolution ala Marx?
Aren't the dudes in charge of the "monied special interests" also americans?
Short replies: Not really, no, no, and not always.
First and foremost, the lobbyists must go. Lobbying the government is akin to jury tampering. The Wall Street bankers, Big Pharma, Big Ag, and a host of other monied special interests have the government at their beck and call. That must end. We have a structure in place for electing officials who are tasked with governing according to what the voters hired (elected) them to do, not what a handful of elites bid them to do.
I make these arguments for the sake of open discussion, nothing more. As far as healing the political and socioeconomic divisions in this nation, correcting the dysfunctions in the governing process, and dragging it kicking and screaming out of the staggering level of debt we are sinking into...it ain't gonna happen without an Armegeddon.
We're f**ked pardner. Too many of us are too stupid, too lazy, and too greedy to want it any other way.
Enjoy.
