Watchdog.org - "U.S. taxpayers spent nearly $16 million to fly the Obamas to, from and around Hawaii and Africa, Air Force records obtained by Judicial Watch show.

"The Obama family 2013-2014 vacation to Honolulu cost $210,877 per hour for travel alone; at 36.9 total hours, the cost to taxpayers for the vacation's flight expense was $7,781,361.30," Judicial Watch said in a statement, noting an increase of $3,695,006.10 from flight expenses for the Obamas' 2012-13 Hawaii Christmas vacation.

Michelle Obama extended her Hawaiian vacation, traveling separately back to Washington after spending time with family friend Oprah Winfrey on Maui. President Obama said the trip to Maui was a gift for his wife in advance of her 50th birthday.

Judicial Watch also obtained the cost of the Obamas' trip -- June 27 to July 3 -- to three countries in Africa -- Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania.

Transportation costs for flights to, from and around Africa was $228,288 an hour for 35.5 hours; the flight expense alone was $8,104,224, according to Air Force records.

The total for the Africa and Honolulu vacations cost taxpayers some $15,885,585.30 for flight expenses alone, Judicial Watch said."

Who gives a rats ass, republicans that let us down is the reason he is in the office in the first place.
If they had done HALF the job they were elected to do, we would have a republican in office right now.
Its because they squandered are money and put many folks in the poor house, that this guy gets to go on a vacation.
We need to give him a bonus- the last idiot halved my savings.

We should have the courage to suckitup and apologize to the democrats. They won- two times, and they have increased my property value and my portfolio.
In case anyone is wondering, go back and see how hard I fought for Bush. The dumbass let me down.

I think that is just the problem anymore, no one wants to heed to the victor. Imagine if Nazi Germany was this way after losing the war. They actually had a better point that the republican chickenhawks, they were predicting that Communism would start in Russia and spread. They were right.......There is not one bull**** the republican party ever told us that came true. NOT ONE. The morons even predicted an absolute Romney Win.

I think its become the party of the delusional and disgruntle.

Yeah I resigned.

No one ever bothers comparing these numbers to anything previous presidents have spent.

I wonder why?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Will idiots stop throwing fits over the cost of moving a president around? It makes you sound like you don't understand any of the larger issues.

Seriously... who cares if our president spends $60Million on a trip to North Dakota. You should be more concerned that he can have you killed in your house by a drone strike, and already knows everything you type because of the NSA.

So hope and changes means he has to travel without the same secret service protection as previous presidents?

Ok.... I guess that makes sense??

I'd love it if he were an example and not the norm. I'd love it if he made a change from what was done before. But seriously... reduced travel expenses wasn't something he promised... to jump up and down every time he spends a dollar is just tiresome.

I do find it interesting that this sort of crap seems to find traction with some anti-obama people, when it never came up with Bush or Clinton (both of whom did expensive international travel at the same level or greater)

National debt as follows:

2000 - Clinton 5.6 trillion

2008 - Bush 10 trillion

2013 - Obama 17.075 trillion

And yet you start a thread complaining about an expense that wouldn't even dent a decimal place in those numbers.

Perhaps you should reconsider your thread topics?

Do you also find it interesting that he's also the ONLY one who told the American People that we'd no doubt have to "tighten our belts" while he has spent like a fool with a money tree growing in his side yard.

Classic example of the snowball effect
This here is a between the lines proof that our government doesn't know what they are doing causing..... mainly discouragement. And that they are ultimately destroy the US.

This information that has leaked out into our media has done two things.
Really me I could care less water government does with our money out of our control we can vote we can do all these sorts of things to try to put ourselves back in the power but we as the people lost power long time ago.

And when I say we the people I'm talking about the people who care about the future of this country.

Okay so the first thing that this act for this knowledge has done to we the people is discouraged which is totally the exact opposite of what we should be doing.

Let's just classify travels and vacation as the entertainment industry because honestly that's why we go to get away from our day to day. monotonous life and do something different to be entertained because we no longer have the ability to entertain ourselves.

So we hear that the president spends all of this money or money on elaborate vacation the cost way more than it should so what this makes us think is if he can spend all of her money going on vacation then why don't I spend my money and go on vacation too so what happens is people miss work, which takes those profits from our industry and sends them into the pockets of the entertainment industry. Which in my opinion is completely overrated for the amount of money that they make.

I don't think athletes or musicians or artists should be able to make more money than our police officers or military firefighters, doctors. these are the people that help us personally. physically.

Envy is the root of all evil and people have become envious over the lifespan of the Homo sapiens all the way back to the caveman when we see a man chewing on some fresh meat and we don't have any we become envious jealous so when the government leaks out information.

I think we should sit back enjoy our lives with her family and her friends in our homes in our yards talking about life.

And most of us do. We work hard we save our money invested into our lives and enjoy our lives the simplest way that we possibly can. We budget ourselves

That's what we the people have been taught to do by our parents and their parents.

But what about all the other people in the United States that doesn't have the same dream it seems like there are more and more each day.

Will for the rest of us we the people it forces us to live or we don't want to live work or we don't want to work and vacation or we don't want to vacation and pay the prices that we don't want to pay because all of the money is going towards the entertainment industry not our industry or are agriculture.

And all these high paid people are not spending their money to help our agriculture for our industry they spend the majority of their money on things that don't help us at all Gucci purses expensive foreign cars expensive properties in foreign countries that's why we are losing money because our money is leaving

So I think this is just a classic case of the snow ball effect that will eventually happen to be no more United States

This is just my opinion and opinions are like azzholes everybody's got one but I'm young I'm in my 30s I don't have a whole Lotta knowledge on our government, they have made it way too technical for the common man to understand the laws and reason. I don't feel I have been around long enough. But I'm getting there. but frankly when I hear news like like this it doesn't do anything but pisz me off and I know it piszes off everybody else off too. Which I would think the government would not want to piss off we the people.

It's really just the same old song and dance.

He has doubled the wealth in the stock market and saved all our property values
We should give him a bonus like we do any other top performer and executive.
Off the records, we need to get this man a bungalow at the Bellagio for a weekend.

Its disgusting to think that people now want executives to perform, without an upshot. Even a race horse gets massaged more.

This is the President of the top country in the world. We are not Greece.

The stock market is being manipulated.....no F'n way to explain WHY gas prices along with other energy costs remain ridiculously high when we're supposedly now one of the worlds biggest energy producers and exporters. If the average person has NOT figured this out yet....they can and WILL continually come up with reasons as to why gas etc. continue to sell for record profits while using some lame ass excuse ( someone farted in the Middle East ) as a reason to keep busting it off in our asses. Wall Street can Suck It....and F this Global Economy we've been sold into

To hear you babble on you'd think he was Jesus Christ!

As for not being Greece, you're right we're not. We're soft, conditioned and weak. Those people hit the streets in full on riot. The Occupy Wall Streeters pooped in the streets, didn't bathe and made drum circles with plastic buckets all while Ben and Jerry hand fed them.

We're number 1...whooo hooo!

Gas prices are actually very good. Inflation adjusted we are paying $2.50 for gas.

Once the gas industry learned that they can get as much as $5.00 a gallon (As they did in Bush Era), thre was no way they were going to go back to $1 a gallon.

Its one of the biggest gripes I have against Bush (after voting for him) he told us he was going to do a good job on oil, because he was an oil man, and that all this oil from Iraq would help us. Absolutely the opposite happened, he tripled the price of oil and caused the arabs to get three times as rich.

There is saying- you cant dis-invent knowledge. The oil corporation have discovered how much we are willing to pay.

Dude if I could get gas @ $2.50 a gal I wouldn't be bitching....but here in the mid- west (Ind. ) right next door to where it's being refined ( Il. ) we're paying upwards of $3.60-3.79 a gallon) Obamas green energy policies SUCK now and will continue to do so but hey we're " all in " like it or not....couple that with his telling us he'd make energy costs UNnecessarily HIGH and that's the only part of his word he's kept. NO BUSH fan here Either!!!

There I agree with you. Obama has done nothing for energy- which compromises our security. I am just so mad at Bush I cant tell you, because he actually ran on the energy platform. He said he was in tight with the arabs because they respected the bush family- yeah right- they f'ed us over a barrel. I think we have just accept that its going to be a monkey in office every single time.

I laugh that folks are so busy looking at some poor mexican sending a $100 dollar to feed his family that we dont see nor complain about the billion EXTRA dollars that the middle east is getting out of our pockets EVERY DAY. For nothing. They aint helping us pick vegetables that feed us- they are outright taking THREE TIMES more money out of our pocket for the same barrel of oil.
