Is There a Difference?

I know this has probably been posted before, so forgive me if "I'm beating a dead horse" ... I just won a box of 5 Vegas Panatela for $11 (at another auction, but still from CI) at less than half the price they sell them for at CI. I know I got a good deal, but what I need to know (being the first 5 Vegas I have smoked) is what is the difference between the 5 Vegas and the Vintage line. Is the "aged 300% longer" and finest selected leaves the only thing that sets the two apart? In regards to taste, is one better than the other? The reason I ask, is the regular line seems to be more expensive than the vintage line ... and the vintage line even comes in "polished rosewood boxes"!

personally, if aged properly, I prefer the regular line much more, the flavor is similar in both, but in the regular line the taste is much richer and bodied, while the vintage the taste is a bit weak.

I have wondered also. I have boxes of both lines and enjoy both. The Vintage line is a bit milder but still a nice smoke to me. As you mention, the Vintage line at CI is quite a bit less (some Vintage huh?) Never quite figured that one out.

it is because I believe they are being discontinued, and CI bought the remaining supply, whereas thankfully the regualar is still being made, except for the pyramid size which was also discontinued.

GEEZE ... just when you try something for the first time, and start to like it, it gets discontinued. Isn't that life for you? At least it sounds to me, like the regular line was better anyway ...
