I was just reading a 1999 CA issue (in what Rick refers to as one of his smoking parlors) that Hemingway, even though he lived in Cuba for a while, didn't really care for cigars. He did however have a thing for the Cuban rum. Barry

Hemingway would love the bidding on his namesake cigar. $41 and rising for a 5-pak of Sigs. I bought a 5-pak last week for $27 --- just to take another whack at that extremely dead horse, Slim. I know, I know, they are triple that in California, Oregon, Washington ,etc., but sheeesh, how long does a Google search take some of these people? WHACK WHACK WHACK

BTW, I did not bid on these, and didn't intend to, so it isn't sour grapes, just havin fun and runnin off at the mouth.

The Hemingway bidding on CBID is a never ending source of amusement for me and I live in Washington state!!

I agree about being dumbfounded at these bidders lack of ability to do some searches on the net for deals on these????

I picture old geezers like my old man, furiously bidding on these with little clue as to how much they are overpaying!

Fortunately for my old man, he has a son that sets him straight on what the street prices are! ;o)

shame on you for calling your father an old geezer. what is he late 50's. "WE MOCK THE THINGS WE ARE TO BE."

this old geezer can get masterpieces for about$12. and classics and signatures for about $6.00 or less.

if your fingers aren't arthritic and you can eat your predjudice against old geezers, i will help you find the way. (to hemmingways. handle you spirtual quest on your own.)

Rick,

My dad is 83 years old! He calls himself and old geezer all the time!

Just like Groucho Marx, Churchill and Burns, cigars have kept him alive and well!

It was not meant as a slam, but more as a lack of knowledge about the potential of the internet to find DEALS!!!!

I should mention that on my 18th brithday, my dad gave me my first humidor filled with some of my still favorite smokes!

In that box were the following:

Partagas #10 maduro, Montecristo CUBAN #2s, Dunhills and Berings.

I love my dad! We use to joke about those commericials with George Burns who said "For a guy who smokes cigars...even in the shower!" thats my dad!

I love him to death!

X, I think you're right I must have hit a sensitive spot!!...Perhaps when he is really an Old geezer he will realize that there are more important things to worry about than being an Old geezer! LOL!
