I know this isn't a cigar, but I recently heard about this rum called Havana Club 7 (or HC7 for short)...Anyone have any info about it?...It's supposed to be Havana Rum aged for seven years...Any info would be appreciated..I was reading the "Liquor and Cigar" threads and was reminded of this recently by reading a bit about it at another Cigar BB....Sounds REALLY GOOD!

I just finished my 1st bottle of the 7yr old HVC rum, with two left in the liquor cabinet. I won't profess to be a rum expert, but I'd give it a high rating. I've made mostly mojito's with the rum, but have also had it with straight up with a splash of club soda. I bought my 1st bottle in Vancouver ($27), and my last two in los cabos, MX for $8!!

Mexico seems to have quite a high tax on tobacco, as the few legit dealers of Cuban cigars told me. Most churchill size (RyJ, Hoyo, etc.) run close to $375 box. I just returned today from Barcelona, and paid about half that for the same cigars (Authorized Habano's deal). Just thankful the customs boys didn't decide to take a peek into my bag...

They also have a Havana Club 15 Year Old Gran Reserva Rum ... Source: Cuba ... Estimated Price: $120 ...Proof: 80 ... This Cuban rum first manifests a floral bouquet and aromas of vanilla and light tobacco, then the more robust flavours appear, resulting from long ageing in barrels. Do a 'google.com' search using 'Havana Club 7' ... you won't believe all the info there is on the subject!
