I was waiting for the other shoe to drop on this. Looks like Florida's congressman are going to oppose any action on Cuba.

Does it open the door for more illegal immigrants to be granted amnesty for their crime???
Florida would know as they are the closest, and have the highest Cuban population in the Country.

^^Yes, which is why Florida's elected officials are saber rattling.

They gotta keep the Cuban voters in their pocket. To hell with what is best for the country, or for Cuba... they're worried about votes.

Long before the border crisis, Cubans automatically got amnesty as soon as they set foot on U.S. soil, except for that Elian Gonzalez fiasco.

Haitians on the other hand are still beaten back with a stick.

I was afraid that Rubio would further clutter a potentially strong 2016 GOP field. I suspect he's working his way out now. Regardless of whether I agree or disagree with anything he's said, I am pretty sure that history will show that he came down on the wrong side of this one....at least if he's got higher aspirations in the next couple years.
